Tucker is amazing!! My wife and I had the pleasure of having him play at our son's 2nd birthday party and created such a magical day for our son, family and friends. It was one of those afternoons where everyone was smiling and having fun. Tucker's repertoire is endless and he can play and sing everything. He is truly a gifted singer and musician. We are definitely hiring him again
Until I left SoCal for Seattle, for about 3 years I studied guitar with James Musser, master musician and teacher and founder of Peaceland Music. He gave me keys to guitaring development that still keep opening doors to new skills and keener musicianship. It's hard to tone down the superlatives in describing how helpful James can be, but most important, he tunes in to where you are in your development and what approaches suit your learning style best. His engaging temperament makes him incredibly easy to work with and his perceptivity ensures that he gives his students work that challenges without overwhelming. He listens to you so that you learn new ways to listen to yourself and grow as a musician. I've had several guitar teachers over the years, and none has surpassed James, who has earned my highest rating.
When we decided to hire a pianist instead of dj for our reception we new we'd get a different vibe, we weren't prepared for the wonderful treat Vince provided us. He brought a level of sophistication and grace to our event that allowed our guests to not only enjoy his talents, but to still engage with each other and take in the event simultaneously. Vince was well prepared, punctual, and ready to go. In chatting with him I found him to be incredibly personable and quite friendly. His musical ability is top notch, with a wide knowledge of and a variety of stylings. Thanks to Vince for an unforgettable evening!
I'm currently taking singing lessons with Lou, something I've never done before. My initial intention reason was to step into my deep fear of singing in front of others, and what I'm discovering with Lou's mentoring is that I can actually sing. He's patient, laid back, and a professional musician with a formal education in music and talented on a number of instruments as well. So far, having fun, singing tunes I enjoy, and making a ton of progress in a relatively short period of time.
I've seen Kimberly play & she is a great player ... when I got to study with her I found her lesson materials well put together, organized & full of useful music exercises which helped me go from being a seasoned player (percussionist) intimidated by the idea of learning to solo on guitar to advancing to her special ensemble class where I would solo & where I learned to handle the fear thru live playing ... she will go to great lengths to help U understand song theory by charting out chords & showing U what scales can be used for soloing ... whatever level one is at students young & old see results ... plus she put in time to chart out a favorite song for part of my lesson ... meaning she has a great ear & is able to take difficult music concepts & make the info easy to digest ... so much music so little time is how I've felt after a lesson ... thats been my experience with Kimberly as a student ... and that's this reporters opinion!
Stefano is the only reason I still play drums. He has really helped me focus my playing and technique to be a better drummer, and musician.
Jamie really is the most amazing music teacher! I hired her to introduce my 4 year old daughter to violin. Jamie is Suzuki certified and has years of experience teaching children of all ages (and adults). When she arrived, my daughter was shy, but Jamie brought her out with her natural charm. It probably didn't hurt that Jamie has a young child of her own at home! She clearly knows about attention span and how to pace a lesson. By the end of the lesson, my daughter was comfortably holding the violin and eager to make sounds. One thing which I really appreciated was the fact that Jamie spent 10 minutes afterwards filling me in on her impressions, giving me pointers as to how to nurture a budding interest, and talking through the Suzuki process. Before falling asleep later that night, my daughter said, "I love the violin!" Wow. She had shown zero interest before. This lesson exceeded ALL expectations! Jamie is a real gem!!!!
Audience was fully satisfied with the vocalist. Very professional, talented and entertaining. We were very lucky to have come across this artist through Thumbtack. Highly recommend!
I'm a songwriter/composer and first came to Kevin to learn how to sight read and improve my technique. After only a handful of lessons, I was learning music theory, composition techniques, and reading notation. With some hard work and determination, I quickly noticed an improvement in my playing, writing, and ability to read music. Within a couple months I had built a playable repertoire. After 6 months, I was working on material that had once seemed impossible to learn. His teaching methods strengthened my confidence as a musician, while also encouraged my appetite for learning. Kevin is both patient and passionate about teaching. His clear, straight forward way of communicating made it easier to grasp complex musical concepts. He is also a passionate, hard working musician, and beyond excellent pianist. Any aspiring musician could benefit from his wisdom and teaching. This review can't fully capture my gratitude for having Kevin as a teacher and musical mentor.
Been taking Guitar/Vocal lessons with Michael for 7 years. Not only is he a skilled Musician and Teacher, but he is also an exemplar and will push you out of your comfort zone.
I worked with Taylor on an original song we wrote and he did an amazing production on one of my existing songs. He is a phenomenal musician in addition to being a great producer so he knew exactly what I wanted stylistically/ lyrically and pushed me to get the best vocal and guitar sounds possible. He works incredibly fast and delivers the exact sound you want with the best production quality!
Fantastic vocalist and musician! Hired for a small, intimate wedding needing low-key acoustic music that was done perfectly. Received several compliments from our guests on the quality of music and caliber of talent! Thank you again for making our celebration a great enjoyment for everyone present!
My son started formal drum lessons with Steve two and a half years ago. Steve set the bar on professionalism, flexibility, communication, and has the patience to teach music to younger kids. My son went from a kid banging on a toy drum, to a musician that could play drum set rhythms in an elementary school jazz band. We've had other instructors since Steve left the Los Alamitos area but none of them compared to his high level of attributes listed earlier.
After wanting to learn to play the guitar for years, I can’t say enough how grateful I was when I found Davey! He’s incredibly talented, both as a musician and a teacher, and has a unique way of making lessons rewarding from the start. I appreciate the way he values teaching the fundamentals, while also incorporating my musical tastes and keeping the lessons fun. I was blown away by how quickly I learned! He’s truly a gifted teacher and his warm personality and genuine encouragement make you want to play all day. Davey doesn’t just show you how to play an instrument - he teaches you how to be a musician.
John Brown is a talented musician. I hired him for my parents 50th wedding anniversary party. He was amazing! Played all of the songs we asked and sounded great. He even let my dad, who enjoys singing and playing the guitar harmonize with him for a few of the songs. My dad was over the moon about the experience. I will hire John again and again if I am in need of live music. Thank you John for making my parents 50th extra special!
Been awesome working with Jason! I've always had an interest in becoming a better musician, but the routine of picking up books that are too complex to fully grasp was always daunting. He's helped tremendously with simple breakdowns and in-depth analysis of music theory and composition, as well as technique and application. I really look forward, not only to the future sessions, but the homework I'm assigned to perfect my craft.🤘
Great musician! Can do many genres of music! Hire this guy and you won't be disappointed 😎
My name is Matthew Matz and I consider C.J. Tywoniak the best instructor I have ever worked with. I have release several CD's and therefore I needed someone who is not only an excellent musician but also needs to understand music theory. C.J. is both. He is a virtuoso on the guitar but also understands complex theory that I needed as a song writer. He is patience and really gets into your playing and the goals you want to achieve. He makes learning fun. He would still be teaching me today if he hadn't gone and move 3000 miles away! C.J. is the only person you need to consider to up your game.....
From the first time I talked to Neil Stipp I know he would be the perfect person to play at my wedding on November 22nd, 2014. Before my wedding happened, I had never even attended a wedding, so I wasnt sure what music to play or how anything really went in a wedding ceremony. The first time I talked to him he explained everything perfectly, and he hummed different songs so I had an Idea of the type of music he played and the songs he suggested.(since I had no clue about any of it! Haha) He always stayed in contact with me and made sure everything was going well. He came and set up a week early to figure out where he would be set up and did trials of different songs and them in different tunes. Then on the day of the wedding he played and all my guests loved him. We got married outdoors, and he brought his own keyboard and amp.. my guests said it set the perfect mood for a wedding when he was playing. I couldnt have asked for anybody better to play the music for my wedding. Thank you Neil!
Just what I was looking for in a jazz piano teacher! He listened to my goals and is crafting a teaching strategy to make me a better musician while enjoying the process. Looking forward to more piano lessons in the future. He also teaches saxophone.
I have known Jennifer Deirmendjian for 12 years now and worked with her musically on solo projects off and on as well as performances in bands. She plays and writes violin beautifully. I have learned so much from her musicianship in rehearsals on a professional level more than anyone I have ever worked with. She is patient, kind and disciplined. I highly recommend her teaching experience as she has been my mentor and inspired me in so many ways!
