My first indication that I should have avoided this place should have been Micro West Tech's broken down van with flat tires and faded signs leaning against it facing Mason Ave. My second indication should have been the fact that they carried out-dated product in the store. Anyway, I got a virus on my computer so I took it to this place because I believe in supporting local businesses. I went to the counter and saw "Jacob" sleeping in the back. I awoke him and told him my problem. He said he could easily fix it and it would be ready the following day. When I called the next day, he said he needed another day. This went on for 8 days! When I finally returned to the store, he said my computer still was not fixed. I demanded he return it. He would not do so until i paid him $100. I felt taken hostage. I paid him $100 and he handed me my computer. When I booted it up, I discovered that all of my programs, files and directories had been deleted! He told me he tried to transfer everything to another hard drive so as to "clean" my system, but when he went to transfer my programs, files and directories back, his hard drive crashed and all data was lost. He said it was not his fault ... that it was a risk I agreed to. I will be filing a small claims action for my $100.
