My son has taken guitar lessons from Patrick for over the past 5 years. During that time my son has developed such an ear for music, an appreciation for the guitar whether it be acoustic or electric, and has gained a tremendous amount of self confidence! Because he can really start jammin! Patrick has been an integral part of shaping the artistic & creative talents that come with learning an musical instrument! My son has definitely gained so much more than he even realizes over the course of those years! Thanks for help in shaping my son!!!Jun 26, 2015
I took lessons with him when i was 8 years old. I stopped taking lessons when i was 12 years old. In those four years i have learned so much about guitar in such a little time. Patrick is an amazing teacher and by the time i left his teaching, i joined 4 bands and played at the whiskey twice, the house of blues four times, and the grove once. All amazing experiences and it all started from Patrick. I am 16 now and i will never forget what he has done for me. If you are thinking about eventually taking on guitar at all, Pat is your man.Feb 10, 2015
At the age of 9 my son Julian started to take group guitar lessons from Pat. After that session I ask Pat if he does private lessons, he said yes but its at La Puente. So from Chino Hills I took my son to La Puente every Saturday for the next 5 years. He is very good with kids and I highly recommend him. My son now 18 enjoys writing songs & performing.Apr 3, 2013
So far I like working with Patrick, listens to the student, makes lessons fun. Really happy I found Patrick, well worth the drive to his studio. Thank you and keep up the good work.Jul 23, 2019Verified
I have an 8 year old beginner student. She bought her guitar+case and got a great deal. Excellent teacher. His 30+ years teaching guitar is easy to see. He is patient, encouraging. We'll never go anywhere else.Sep 20, 2014Verified
- What types of customers have you worked with?I'm a fun teacher! I've been teaching guitar to all ages for over 30 years...group as well as private. While I make the lessons fun, I also make them very informative. I am serious and passionate about teaching and I make sure that my students walk away from each lesson saying, "Wow, that was a cool lesson!" I have been teaching group and private lessons for about 30 years now. I've been a contract teacher for The City Of Chino Hills for about 10 years, and have taught for the cities of Chino, Diamond Bar and Walnut as well. I started my teaching business, LearnGuitare around 2006 and teach group and private lessons at its studio in Chino, CA. I have performed since the late 70s in many bands and have met and played with a lot of great musicians. In the 80s, we were part of the scene that rocked the Sunset Strip and all over Southern California. Today, I perform with my wife in our Pat Benatar tribute band, HeartBreaker which was founded in 1999. We have performed many concerts since then, and have performed in front of thousands! We have performed in Japan for our naval troops, Canada, Arizona, Las Vegas as well as many California Casinos, Concerts In The Park and other venues. LearnGuitare is my passion and I look forward to working you and to help you reach your musical goals!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?At LearnGuitare, group and private lessons are offered for beginners as well as guitarists at intermediate and advanced levels. Sometimes people ask, ÃÂShould I take private lessons or group lessons?ÃÂ It's a debate, and what works for some, doesn't work for others... LetÃÂs talk about the differences between group and private lessons, shall we? PRIVATE LESSONS: Private lessons provide individual attention and can focus on individual student interests. While more expensive, ($27.00 per 30 minutes) the student can benefit from the instructorÃÂs undivided attention. Private lessons are ideal for the intermediate or advanced guitarist. Private lessons are offered for absolute beginners too, although group classes are recommended at first. Once a student has progressed beyond a certain point with group lessons, private lessons are very helpful and beneficial to a studentÃÂs progress. GROUP LESSONS: Learning a musical instrument can be an intimidating thing for the beginning guitarist. A group classroom setting in a relaxed environment can greatly improve the learning process for beginning students. While more economical, ($22.50 per 45 minutes) we have a lot of fun in the group classes which relieves potential stress of the student from feeling like ÃÂthey have to perform perfectlyÃÂ by providing the opportunity to play as part of a group. We also combat the typical issues of classroom instruction by lengthening the class to approximately 1 hour a week so that the instructor can roam the class and focus on each studentÃÂs specific needs. Each lesson is planned to build upon the one before and progress is easily tracked. The students get the opportunity to play with others and make friendships, which help keep them motivated and encouraged. The Guitar is an instrument that is meant to accompany other instruments or vocals. Usually people would like to eventually sing along with their playing or to jam with others rather than on a stage or around a campfire. A group setting is great for getting them used to playing as a group. In our continuing group classes, each student in each group is basically around the same level of expertise. Some students catch on faster than others and require more challenging material to learn with, so students are welcome to change groups based on their level of progress. Some students prefer a slower pace and maybe need a little more time to go through the material. We accommodate that as well by offering the student review with other groups. At LearnGuitare, there is no such thing as failure!
