ShapeUp Studio is for me the best place to train, they have a great flexibility regarding the opening hours which allows me to train really early morning (5am) before going to work but they have also options for late classes or during the weekend. Markshane and all the trainers are really friendly which makes the sessions more pleasant, enjoyable and help you going beyond your limits. The exercises change all the time so you wonât get bored doing the same routine and it keeps your motivation high. A good thing also is that Markshane gives you advises regarding your food habits. About the results, my goal was to get some muscles, be leaner but stronger too and not skinny and weakâ¦ I can definitely see and feel the transformation. So far, the sessions have been for me a great way to kick start my days and I highly recommend trying this place, you will get addicted to it. Alex.
I have had trainers before. However, never one like Megan, who cares beyond the workout. Her overall wellness lifestyle is motivating and inspirational. Her classes are filled with support and drive. I like that she is not a pushover or a Drill Sargent. Most of all she knows her stuff. She is always reading and learning, adding more credentials to her resume...and keep classes fresh and different. What she has created is a community of wellness with her blog, videos, and app. I would recommend Megan to anyone who wants to make a positive change in their life.
Working with Rich was mind blowing! I have always been an athlete but training with Rich took me to the next level. Rich really takes the time to work with you sonyou actually learn how to reach your full potential. It doesn’t matter If your goal is to lose that 10-15 extra lbs or get ready do a bodybuilding competition Rich is the man to go see.
Lana is an AMAZING personal trainer! I've been training with Lana for a little over a month, every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Her assessments of what you need to accomplish goals are exactly on target. Lana designed a program for me that has been working to help me achieve my goals. She has a way of challenging you that is very successful and rewarding, results are guaranteed. Lana knows what she is doing but is also smart and fun to work out with. She will push you without putting you down and knows how to challenge you to reach your goals. You'll be challenged right away and feel the burn, but somehow keep going back for more. Lana is always cheerful and motivating, and has the ability to constantly change up the routine so that it never gets boring. I'm so thankful for Lana, she not only helped me physically but also mentally.
I have been working with Wes for a couple of weeks now, and I have to say that he has been outstanding. In our initial meeting, we discussed my goals and what I was looking for with my training sessions. He immediately crafted a workout regimen which would allow me to attain my goals. He is excellent at pushing you to reach your full potential. I have had some injuries in the past, and Wes has deisgned programs/routines that allow me to get results without aggravating those areas. I also have a schedule that can be unpredictable. Wes has been great about being flexible with workout times to accomodate me; and without penalizing me financially like some other trainers I've had in the past. Wes is a great guy, and I look forward to continuing to work with him. It is without reservation that I recommend him to anyone looking to improve their physical health.
Allison, is the perfect trainer for me. She challenges and inspires me to move beyond my current ability, while also respecting where I am the day we train together. Her motivation is extremely encouraging. She listens to my needs and patiently and thoroughly answers questions and explains how to properly and safely do poses. I am truly falling in love with yoga and feel very inspired to commit to a consistent practice. I cherish her kindness, gentleness and acceptance. I highly recommend her!
I've been doing personal training since 2010 through many different trainers, my all time favorite was with Brittany. I went through a phase where I wasn't conditioned to training, had gained weight and wasn't use to lifting weights. The first time we trained together, I thought it was really weird but she made it of importance about my breathing and posture and didn't just get right back into lifting like I use to. A couple sessions later, I really actually felt a difference because she made it important to recondition myself and make sure that I breathe properly while I train! She not only made me feel physically fit, she was a great person to talk to, and made me feel great while I worked out and constantly pushed me to be a better person. I wouldn't ever want another trainer, and when I'm done with my break from training, Brittany and I are going to be back out there hitting those new PR's!
I have always worked out, primarily at group classes like Barry's Bootcamp. While I felt in shape, I saw little change in strength and overall fitness. After interviewing with several trainers, I went to Tom looking to see actual results, an improvement in strength and for nutrition advice. I have been working out with Tom since April, and am in the best shape of my life. His workouts are challenging, and personalized to my goals. I have developed more strength, confidence, and overall fitness in 8 months then I had in 3 years in group classes. I think the most valuable part of Tom's training has been the nutrition advice. His meal "plan" (and I hesitate to call it that) is easy to understand and follow, encourages REAL, nourishing food, and most importantly, balance. Unlike my experience with other trainers, I have never felt hungry or restricted, and have never had a better relationship with food. As a bonus, he can also be funny. I highly recommend Tom!
Lisa is experienced and knowledgeable. She brings a lot more to the table then most trainers. She is also a health coach and helps with healthy eating.
I am quite the picky client and when searching for a personal trainer I went thru 10 trainers before I was lucky enough to find Colby. Many people can say they are a "personal trainer" however just because you have the title doesn't mean you are good at it. I can honestly say Colby is THE BEST. Not only has he motivated me to do things I would of never tried on my own. He is also helping me reach my weight loss and fitness goals. I know that with someone like him by my side I will reach every goal I have set for myself. Besides being a wonderful person/trainer he genuinely cares about his clients and when you meet him you will see that for yourself.
I was a scared girl who wanted change but I didn't know where to start. I walked past the gym for 2 months until I finally found the bravery to walk in. I was matched up with Candon as my trainer & started going once a week. I have been working with Candon for 6 months straight & he has helped build confidence in me to workout & challenge myself, even on my non training days. It's about always improving myself for a happier & healthier life, starting from the inside out. Candon now works with me twice-three times a week to achieve my goals. It took a long time for me to realize that personal trainers honestly and genuinely want what you want. He will be your biggest fan. I have a spinal injury which creates a struggle when doing certain moves, but I ask Candon to push me harder and he does. If I need an easier day, he doesn't hold it against me or make me feel bad about it. He just asks for communication and honesty regarding what I'm struggling with so he knows how to help me. He praises that I've taken effort to still show up even on my low/hard days because he knows that with each day I show up...is another day closer to me reaching my goal. He is one of my #1 supporters on my overall health and fitness journey and I genuinely know that he wants to see me happy. To date I have dropped over 70 pounds with about 40 more to go. I am now transitioning away from weight loss & into muscle building/toning and I've never been more eager! I recommend Candon for ALL levels of fitness from the beginner/novice to the extreme/advanced weight lifter. He is well rounded with his education and understanding of the body & different muscle groups & has an amazing character. Tony has been absolutely fantastic to work with. He was the only trainer that actually read what I posted and didn't send out a canned response. I am disabled and Tony has adapted my routine to fit within what my body is capable of and the results have been impressive. I had never lifted weights before and could barely dead lift 185lbs 6 weeks ago. I can now pull 365lbs and I'm certain the weight will just keep going up. I am having similar results with the other major lifts that we are doing. Tony is a knowledgeable trainer that easy going and makes his students feel comfortable. He is genuinely excited to see you get a personal record! When you are in the gym, his entire focus is on you. We spent a lot of time learning correct form and adding weight later. Tony has worked with me on the little details like changing how I set up under the bar when I am going to squat. I used to take too many steps to get into position with the weight on my shoulders and had issues clearing the pegs on the rack. We worked on setting up with my feet close together and changing which foot I started back with. This allowed me to comfortably clear the pegs and get into a proper position with 3 steps instead of 5. That makes a huge difference when you have a heavy weight on your shoulders. I recommend Tony without hesitation.
Jon has a great knowledge on different training modes great for the variety of clients that he's getting. His dialogue is very to understand from a training standpoint. He takes the time to teach form first over everything. Not only is he educated in the training aspect of fitness, he has a very good knowledge of diets that help his clients. A very versatile trainer, how trainers should be. Highly recommend.
Roger know his stuff. As someone with medical conditions that affect my mobility and strength on a daily basis, I need a trainer that will adjust his workout routine to accomodate my body. He's able to think quickly and create exercises that will strengthen my muscles without hurting my joints.

John Burson has been my fitness trainer for over 12 years. He is highly competent and very professional, but what I like best is how attentive he is in customizing the workout specifically for me. Over many years, he has always fine tuned each exercise to best match my sometimes changing needs and wishes regarding my fitness. Thanks also to his very friendly attitude, every workout with him is always fun and enjoyable, never boring. Last but not least he is also very reasonable with his rates and flexible to accommodate my schedule. I would recommend John as a rare example of an ideal fitness trainer.
I did a 2 week trial with Adam, and in just those 2 weeks I could feel a difference in my body. The Workouts he had me doing were great! From rope slams, Trx cables and Bear crawls, Adam had me doing everything I needed to be loosing fat and gain muscle. He also recommends a dietary plan. This was great, he provided a shopping list and snacks that I should eat during the workouts to get the best results. Adam is a great trainer and he knows his stuff! i would highly recommend anyone who is trying to live a healthier lifestyle to get in touch with Adam.
Stubbs is a dedicated, knowledgeable, and conscientious trainer and person. Rather than receiving a cookie-cutter workout and simple form checks like I have from past trainers, Stubbs paid special attention to exactly what I was and wasn't capable of then created workouts tailored around my capabilities in order to get me into the best shape of my life. He puts his full effort into achieving your fitness goals inside and outside of the gym. Not only did I make strength gains, but his focus on posture and mobility has eradicated all my back, hip, and knee pain that made me fear working out in the first place. Bobbie is by far one of the best trainers in San Diego, hands down. She's an experienced trainer who's sincere about her craft & continues to educate herself & her staff with what's best for themselves as trainers & for their clients as well. I am so happy to have found a personal trainer who is extremely knowledgeable about the field and very patient with someone who is just getting into fitness. I have been training with Stacey for almost 2 months now and love that our workouts are challenging yet fun. Aside from the workouts, she has created a diet plan specific to me and my needs.
