Service was excellent and very professional. Technician was very motivated and precise. I do not agree with the pricing on tile cleaning. It requires the same work and chemicals as Carpet cleaning and it cost just about as much for my small kitchen and dining room as is did for cleaning the carpet in my entire home. If I were to get the tile cleaning in my two bathrooms, it would have cost me an additional $80. Instead I paided $80 for my kitchen and dining room tiles.

this duo is fantastic. my carpet is actually clean from all the grease, dirt and puppy oopses. two other carpet cleaners would not even do my two stairs because they were hopelessly black. DONNA AND HER PARTNER GOT THEM PRACTICALLY SPOTLESS...... THESE TWO ARE NOW MY GO TO COUPLE FOR CLEAN, CLEAN, CARPETS. LOVE THEM....

I definitely recommend SunCal Carpet Clean. I have had my carpets cleaned by 2 different companies over the last few years. Jacob came to clean my carpets, he was on time and NO hidden fee's like other carpet cleaners. My carpet looks new again, they are a great business!

The previous tenant offered to clean the carpets themselves and ended up soaking the carpets, leaving a bad smell. I contacted Coastal Chem Dry who I used the year before to see if they could rectify the problem. He was able to get the smell out after 2 shampoos using deodorizer. He also gave me a discount on the second shampoo. I was very pleased with the outcome because my next resort would have been to replace the carpets which I really didn't want to do. I would definitely recommend this carpet cleaner because he goes above and beyond to satisfy the customer.

I like clean carpets but I never took the time to clean them often because it seemed like a hassle. I met Mike Coons 2 years ago and he came highly recommended by my colleagues. I scheduled a day for him to clean my carpets and I knew I could trust him completely to not only do an amazing job with the carpets, but to also take really good care of my furniture and belongings. I let him in the house in the morning and when I returned, my carpets looked spotless! And trust me, they had ALOT of spots before I left. Thank you to Mike for his excellence in carpet cleaning and in business.

I am new to Thumbtack, but decided to use the service to locate a carpet cleaner. My wife and I have done the Stanley Steamer routine in the past, figuring it was the same as hiring someone else. Boy, were we WRONG! We were in dire need of a cleaning after a large birthday celebration last month had left our beige carpets exceptionally dirty. I read Leo's page and his comments rang true to me. I called him pretty late in the evening after I got home from work, and he answered! I told him I had obtained a quote from him on Thumbtack and wanted to schedule with him. I gave him more details (the request for quotes is pretty limited) and he agreed to come out on a Sunday (which really helped us out, since our schedule is really hectic at the moment, but we really needed the carpets cleaned!). He was great. Called ahead of time, and texted me too. Jumped right on it and we were AMAZED at how the carpets turned out. He breathed new life into the carpet! I was so impressed, I inquired about a couch and chair that had been overlooked for too long. He gave me a reasonable price on the spot, and just kept working. No residue on the carpet or furniture. No weird chemical-ly smell. Just CLEAN...! We took cards and will recommend Leo and Organic Steam Clean to friends and family. And we will definitely use him again, because we KNOW how good the carpet can look now...

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

How much does it cost to clean a carpet?

Carpet cleaning costs vary depending on the type of cleaning, such as steam cleaning, and whether there are any stains that require special treatment. The main cost factors are the square footage of the carpet and the material it’s made from. The national average carpet cleaning price ranges from $100 to $130 for a typical suburban home, but steam cleaning prices start at an average of $120. In general, professional carpet cleaning ranges from an average of 20 cents to 50 cents per square foot, depending on where you live. Many companies have a minimum fee or room requirement — such as two rooms for an average of $40 each — and will charge more to clean carpeted stairs or a second floor. Finally, the carpet fiber type, density and pile will also affect the cost of cleaning; man-made fibers are stain-resistant and easier to clean, while wool carpeting is sensitive to water and requires more care.

How much does it cost to clean an area rug?

Whether your pet had an accident, the party got too wild, or your kids can’t control their juice boxes — we all need rug cleaning from time to time. In fact, even if you don’t have a spill or spot, it’s wise to have your area rug cleaned approximately once a year to keep the rug fibers in good health. In general, rug cleaning prices depend on the square footage of the rug, what the rug is made of, whether any repairs are needed, and whether you require the pro to travel to your location or provide pickup and drop-off services. Nationally, average area rug cleaning prices range from $80 to $120.

Wool and silk area rugs typically cost more to clean than rugs made from synthetic fibers because the more delicate materials take more care and may require specialized cleaning fluids. For example, a synthetic rug may cost $1.50 per square foot to clean; a wool, cotton, or chiffon rug could be $2 per square foot; and a silk or Navajo wool rug could cost $3 per square foot. The two most common rug cleaning methods are steam and chemical cleaning. The costs for the two methods are often the same, although a steam-cleaned rug will take longer to dry due to the moisture. If your area rug needs odor removal, moth deterrent, or hand washing, there will be additional charges.
