Scott Humphries Music Lessons
About this pro
Very personable guy. At your first lesson, discuss your objectives. No teacher is ideal for every student, and Scott's patient encouragement will be magic for some and frustrating for others.Mar 21, 2018Verified
We are so happy to have found Scott! We turned to him to teach our 9 yr old. He is knowledgeable, timely, and patient. Our son looks forward to his weekly lesson. We highly recommend him!Jan 5, 2015Verified
I had to cancel, but Scott was very professional on the telephone, and I plan to reschedule when my family emergency allows.Nov 12, 2014Verified
With the challenge of teaching three people at once, including two 10 year olds, Scott shows patience and works at your pace to help you reach your goals. He is a great teacher that promotes learning in all facets.Aug 12, 2014Verified

- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Graduated from Boise State University 1980. B.A. Music Education. Teaching 10 year's private lessons in beginning music.
- What types of customers have you worked with?I teach basic beginning music. How to hold your instrument, how to tune it, how to change strings, and general up keep. I teach how to read the music staff, and the tab staff. I insiste that you have a pencil brought to each lesson. I want you to have fun learning something new and I want you to practice every day. I would like to see you be able to preform simple tunes such as Happy Birthday, and twinkle twinkle little star to family and friends after several lessons.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Pay attention to what your child or as an adult is doing. Become involved with their musical growth. See that they are challenged and that they actually are learning the instrument and how to read the music. See that they are enjoying their musical experience. I want to see that you pick up your insturment and play it. Rather than think oh gee it is time to practice. I want you to think "I'm going to play my instrument now." And have fun doing it.
