I highly recommend Megan for anyone looking to improve their fitness. Megan's personal training had a major impact in my life. I took yoga lessons for her for 6 months. Through her instruction I was able to balance my mind, body and soul. I also literally improved my balance skills which helps out on my favorite activity...downhill longboarding. Megan is extremely dedicated to and knowledgeable about personal training and fitness.

Dustin responded quickly and we tried to arrange for a Basketball lesson before a holiday weekend but unfortunately could not find a time we were both available. We wound up working with another instructor, but this was no fault of Dustin's; we just had a very limited schedule and we live on opposite ends of SD county.

Amelia is a responsive and patient yoga instructor. My sessions with her leave me feeling vitalized and strong rather than feeling really sore and worn out. This is the key to why she is so terrific. She tailors her lessons to my needs and adjusts my positions as needed. Her sessions leave me wanting to practice more yoga rather than feeling like it's too hard due to the recovery being too steep. Amelia is knowledgable, flexible, and positive, and that's always a plus!

My first reading with Fernando was on Black Friday 2011. I asked him for insight into another couple's relationship, which affected where I was going to go. He did not see good things at all about this couple, and I love Fernando because he will tell you, as he sees it, and not put a pretty costume on it to avoid telling you the TRUTH of what he SEES. Well everything he told me unfolded and came true in the next 13 months. So I went to see him Feb 2013 to get an update for future. An even worse picture, but I go to see a good psychic to have him tell me what they see. I want the TRUTH as Spirit shows them in all nakedness, so I could deal with what is coming. I do not pay for someone to "tell me what I wanna hear" that is not the truth of what they REALLY see, just to foo-foo me. I will be a repeat customer of Fernando's again and again because want a psychic who tells me what Spirit shows him, even if it be devastation, because then you can be prepared to deal with it as it comes, or change the outcome to a good one, because you already were forewarned. You can rise above it and learn the spiritual lesson you were meant to learn. He will tell you the higher purpose for the soul, about not so pretty situations. You know that nothing is by chance. If you want the TRUTH as he sees it without "makeup and ornaments", then see Fernando. I am sure he reveals only what Spirit knows you are ready to hear, anyhow. ....a true Channel of God.

John has been my coach for several years now. When I first hired him, I was stuck, lost, confused and totally not on target for what I wanted and how to get there. I now have a career that I love, working from home with great clients and I am actually making a real living off it! I couldn't have done it without John's guidance or support. As the years went on, his lessons stuck with me where I could make straight decisions and set clear boundries for my life on my own. Some of the biggest blessings were the few "Emergency" events that came my way, where John was able to readjust my panic thinking, give me a new perspective from which to handle these events with as much grace and ease as possible. What a gift, what a wonderful "Ace in the back pocket" to have access to!! Thank you, John. I am much more solid in my steps because of your help~

We hired Paul Anderson to speak to our UCSD students about leadership skills. I was impressed with the content of the presentation and how prepared Paul was (including customizing the presentation to fit our audience). Moreover, Paul arrived on time, was very friendly, and very professional. He brought a good vibe to the conversation and was engaging and interactive with the audience. Our students enjoyed their time listening to his lecture. I would definitely be hiring Paul again in the future.

I am a county college sophomore who will be leading a 200 person Honor Society for the first time this Fall. I have been an introvert most of my life, and I needed help for this position. Andre is an excellent and friendly Public Speaking Coach and motivator. Friendly as in he will get to know you and guide you in supportive ways. He is serious about what he does too. He doesn't allow me to not practice. If I'm not practicing he's not teaching. Thats whats so great about him. He's not focused on profit but rather making a difference in his student. Because of him, I am very excited to public speak this fall. He says it's all about the right attitude. Not only has he broken me from my shell, but he has developed my personality to be more comfortable with a crowd through creating rapport and speaking in ways which are comfortable and interesting to listen to. I plan to continue public speaking lessons with him to bring my speaking skills to higher levels. I rated 5 stars on everything because he deserves and earned it.

There is no need to look any farther! I have known Gia for over 5 years now, and her wisdom, empathy, and energy has been vital to my personal development! She truly knows the physical body (she has a Kinesiology degree and yoga certificate), but more importantly, she has this beautiful intuitive spirit that can help you get through the really hard moments of life! I HIGHLY recommend her for private lessons so you can really go deeper into your yoga practice and life journey!!

Being new to yoga myself, Rachel has been absolutely wonderful in introducing me to various yoga techniques and poses; ranging from relaxing stretches/easing localized muscle pain to more advanced muscle tone building poses. I've noticed my core strength and balance, particularly in the application of surfing and balance oriented activities, has been greatly improved. As each week progresses, each instruction has been tailored to my expanding abilities / improved balancing strength; all the while ensuring proper form/technique and most importantly from a place of encouragement and support. Cannot recommend highly enough! Thank you for all the work you've done for me!

Rebecca was my coach for the Ascension Leadership Academy. She coached me in the area of leadership, time management, and personal relationship. In the Leadership front, she knew that I am capable of doing more and stretching my plate as an effective leaders even though I had doubts myself. She pushed me to stretch and do more and achieve excellent results when I was going to just settle for the good enough results. In order to do more, I was reminded to find time to refill my tank so I can continue to have peak performances. This delicate balance was something that Rebecca coached me on and and held me accountable so I can be the leader that I know I can be. In addition to becoming a great leader, I was also coached on the steps necessary to achieve the great relationship that I want in my life. This coaching has lead to me not be afraid of asking for what I want in order to have a healthy and strong relationship with my partner. If you are looking for someone to coach you and hold you accountable to become the best you can be, you will definitely find that with Rebecca.

When i began NLL i was fimiliar with affirmations and journaling , after NLL it's my go to ! The modules in place flow and work together , a nice building block with enough time to use those skills just acquired in the lessons to come. I personally loved the mirror work, that's where I found the most impact and evolution for my path. Heather was wonderful to talk with and learn from , she always communicated from a personal level which made doing this work much kinder and a gentle process. Self care is something I once mistakened for the 'weak hearted' and now, knowing Heather and going on this journey I have found self care is the work of some of the strongest willed hearts around. Thank you Heather, For shining light on how to become more self-aware, compassionate and peaceful on the inside by creating such a great module to share in these days of self discovery .. and making it such a fun experience.

My daughter and I had our first Tai Chi class on Saturday, April 15 and we enjoyed it tremendously. We look forward to having our next set of lessons. Richard & Renee Wing were great teachers. Very patient and kind. I would recommend lessons to anyone who is interested in learning Tai Chi. Being able to do this in our home was great and made the lessons less intimidating. Oletha

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

      What is a career coach?

If you’re interested in furthering your career and want expert help, a career coach is a smart solution. A career coach is a professional you hire to guide you during a job search or a career transition, or to help you improve and advance in your current position. A career coach analyzes your work situation and learns what your professional goals are. They then create a strategy to help you achieve your targets. Throughout the process they should provide objective feedback and guide you in approaching the process strategically. Here are some of the tools and tasks a career coach may assist you with:

      • Helping you build a strong resume that reflects your work history, potential, and skills
      • Coaching for interviews and strategies for solid answers built around your resume and the target job
      • Defining your career goals
      • Creating a plan for job searching
      • Improving networking strategies and skills
      • Developing strategies for negotiating raises or promotions
      • Assessing why you’re not getting where you want to go
      • Identifying new positions or career opportunities that fit your skills

      Why is career counseling important?

Career counseling can help you discover your career path, help you overcome challenges preventing you from finding happiness in your job, or help you learn more about career opportunities that are available to you. Career counselors are typically counselors who specialize in helping guide people into their best career choices. As professionals, they have typically completed a master’s degree in counseling with a focus on career counseling and bring a nuanced understanding of the emotional blocks that prevent someone from doing what they love or getting ahead in their current position. Here are some of the ways that career counseling can help:

      • Identify your skills and talents and how they correlate to different career paths
      • Educate you about the educational requirements for launching in various careers and what earnings can look like
      • Help you understand the kind of environment you want to work in, and which careers are best suited for that
      • See opportunities to transfer your existing skill set to other career areas
      • Help you identify causes of tension or unhappiness in your current career and how to overcome those difficulties
      • Help you create a game plan for moving forward
      • Provide a safe space for you to understand your feelings about career choices you’re making

How much does it cost to hire a career coach?

A career coach provides one-on-one sessions to help you reach your career goals or overcome any challenges you’re having in your career path. The cost to have career coaching can vary based on factors such as the number of sessions you purchase at one time and the experience and rates of your counselor. Career counselors are typically professionals who have earned at least a master’s degree in their field. Based on their academic background, supplemental certifications they have received, and any postdoctoral work they have done, their rates may vary. Typically career counselors offer reduced rates when you sign on for their services on an ongoing basis. A typical price range for career counseling services (nationally) could be $75-$150 per session. Remember to always ask if the career counselor offers a complimentary introductory session. You want to make sure the relationship will be the right personality and counseling style fit to help launch your confidence and upcoming career changes.

How much does it cost to hire a career coach?

When it’s time to take your career to the next level, it’s time to hire a career coach. The cost to have a career coach help you with your professional journey will vary based on how many sessions you require, the level of coaching you desire, and the rates of the coach as determined by their experience, expertise, education and training. On average, career coaching sessions can range from 60 to 120 minutes, depending on the professional and what your needs are. Career coaches in smaller towns and areas with a lower cost of living will also typically have lower rates than those residing in large metro areas like New York, although most do offer remote coaching. Many coaches also offer a free introductory consultation, which gives you the opportunity to determine if their personality and coaching style are the right fit. It’s helpful to ask the coach about their relevant experience and get references from former clients. Depending on the professional, session rates could range anywhere from under $60 to well over $250 per session. Package discounts are a good way to commit to the relationship as well as get savings on services.

      What is a career counselor?

If you’re feeling lost in your career path, overwhelmed, in need of a job but confused as where to start, or ready for change but uncertain what you want, a career counselor is a good choice for you. A career counselor is typically a licensed professional who has earned a master’s degree in counseling — likely with an emphasis on career counseling. Each state has different licensing requirements for career counselors, so be sure to research before reaching out to a pro.

Due to their academic backgrounds, career counselors often have a more holistic and in-depth approach than a career coach. Career coaches are not regulated by states and also tend to be more business-focused — a good fit for those who know what they want but need help achieving it. On the other hand, a career counselor provides guidance and clarity around some of the more emotional aspects that job hunting and career movement entail. Career counselors meet with you in a series of one-on-one sessions. They assess your personality and learn what drives you. They get a detailed understanding of your work history and your hopes, and often work to help you discover any internal blocks preventing you from going where you want to go. Hiring a career counselor is appropriate at any time in your career, from recent graduate to executive-level management.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
