Kenshaka gave me acting lessons via video chat which is already a difficult task, but he was a great guide and mentor regardless of those obstacles. He is also very flexible and willing to be available for help outside of the scheduled lesson times. Excellent teacher and I would recommend him to others!
We highly recommend Lois For tutoring. She is well known in Honolulu and has years of experience. She tutored our granddaughter when she needed to take the entrance exams into private schools. Lois has great knowledge of children and skill in getting them to do their work. Her lessons were challenging and fun. Our grandaughter could hardly wait to return to her next session. We wish Lois was here to tutor our grandaughter in her college SATS. Carol Lehman
Joanne is a very intuitive coach. As a beginner adult, I was nervous and unsure of my abilities. Joanne took the time to assess my skill level and created a curriculum and acting exercises tailored to fit me! I've learned it's okay to be nervous, it's okay to let go and have fun. I am actually having fun taking Skype lessons and I am learning how to be authentic and real. Joanne keeps in touch between lessons to send me articles to read that will help me as well as answering questions. I couldn't be happier with my choice to hire Joanne. I'm very grateful.
During the time of operation of Let The Kids Grow Los Angeles, California 2013-2014. I had the privilege of working with and managing Mrs. Tracy Pfau, she was our head Acting instructor. She had the tasks and duties of working with underprivileged children of the community to help them stay off the streets and into the classrooms. She was able to work with children that possessed some knowledge of acting to complete beginners. She was professional and always uplifting to the children and respected them in a professional and caring manner as if they were her own. She not only taught them the basics fundamentals of acting but she showed them the professionalism and seriousness of the business surrounding a acting career. The ages of the children ranged from 4-17. As this was a after school program she would always be ready with a lesson plan and would not mind helping after hours if needed. I have learned that to be a great instructor you need to first have a great heart and a seriousness to the profession, and Mrs. Pfau is the total package as she is a great instructor and a great mentor and even after the program finished she was still willing to work with the children on a personal basis to really help these children accomplish their goals in the acting profession. I would be more than happy to recommend Mrs. Pfau in any future projects as I do not recommend people unless I really believe in them.
I can't even put into words how amazing a teacher Sean is. The best way to explain it is to tell about my recent experience in a student film and the results I see from his coaching. It's easy to say you are learning from someone but a completely different thing to be able to put those skills into practice and see the results. So many of the things I accomplished that day on set would not have been possible without the skills Sean taught me. Before “action” on one scene, I caught myself questioning my character's actions and motives and heard Sean's voice in my head reminding me to not judge the character. This bit of remembered wisdom reminded me to focus on empathizing with and being the character rather than judging her. It helped me to become the character rather than just myself portraying the character. There were multiple shots in this film where I had to cry, something I was extremely nervous about and had never been able to do on camera before. But I did as Sean taught me, and the tears came naturally. Without Sean's coaching, my emotions and the tears would not have felt or looked authentic. Sean's acting lessons have helped me immensely, and I am so thankful for everything I have learned from him. I would recommend Sean as a teacher for anyone who is serious about being an actor.
Bonnie is fantastic! Really understands the male voice. Looking forward to continuing to work with her.
I honestly would not rather have any other coach. David makes me feel comfortable and is VERY proffesional. He gives me hope for my future plans with voice acting.
David Rountree from LA Acting Studios is the best teacher in Los Angeles-- hands down! I am amazed of his knowledge and the experience he shares from his time so far in the Industry. I love learning from him! He is definitely not to be missed if you're serious about Acting or would just like to raise your confidence level. He has a way of connecting to you that is very heartfelt and sincere.
Terrell is a masterful acting instructor. Be prepared to be open and vulnerable and watch your craft, take flight and soar to new heights. Terrell is all about the work, so if you're ready to earn a living in your career, this is the place to be.
Allie once said to me that she is at her best when "engaging in the collaborative process." This is only one example of Allie's striking self awareness and excitement in engaging with others in creativity. I have had the pleasure of working with Allie for the last 4 years and during this time she is consistently someone I turn to for acting coaching. Allie has a shrewd eye, and a no bull shit attitude, that makes her someone I trust as an outside eye. This coupled with the fact that Allie truly cares about the people she works with in a deep, palpable way makes her a truly unique coach. Because Allie is thoughtful about the quality of work she facilitates, as well as the well being of those around her, I consistently leave sessions with her feeling confident in my work. I cannot recommend Allie highly enough, anyone would be lucky to work with her.
Working with Monique was the best. She's extremely encouraging, while not shying away from giving constructive feedback to help me grow as a voice actor. She is very thorough, not only with teaching acting skills, but also with going over how the business works. This included what do to during auditions, how video resumes should look, creating a vision for the future, and owning your talent! I've put off becoming a voice actor for years, not even getting into a class. But Monique taught me that I can do anything I put my mind to, and if I believe that I can make a career out of voice acting, then it'll happen. 10 out of 10, would recommend.
My daughter has been taking acting lessons with Jennifer Carta and she loves it! Jennifer is an amazing teacher. My daughter is looking forward to her upcoming classes and can't wait the future has in store.
Michael is an extremely talented, knowledgeable, and understanding teacher. He will make you a better actor period. He helped me think about my character and the text in more nuanced ways and always gets a great performance out of me!!
We teach private music lessons including piano, guitar, voice, and we also provide private acting coaching. All teachers are university-trained and perform professionally in their fields.
Yale School of Drama MFA Andrew Utter teaches acting classes, with kick for film and theater in Los Angeles/Hollywood based on his training with Evan Yionoulis and Earle Gister of Yale School of Drama. Andrew Wood Acting Studio is located in Hollywood/Los Angeles.
I teach all levels of acting, working with voice, breathing and acting techniques. I do a scene study for theaters, as well as movies and television. Private, one-on-one coaching is also available.
My approach to voice lessons is both fun and educational. When working with anyone, no matter the age you have to be able to be where they are at and go from there. Being able to adapt your teaching style to meet the individual needs of the student is key.
I'm now based in LA after living/performing in NYC for 5 years and being taught by many Broadway professionals. Since I moved, I've been looking to share my knowledge with aspiring young artists!
I truly want the kids I work with to feel good about themselves and their possible performance. Acting gives one confidence and a great work ethic. I'm still young and connect with kids on both a friendly and maternal level.
I provide a fun and safe learning environment. I work with the individual to make them meet their goals no matter how demanding. If you want to tackle that song that you love and become better on your instrument, I will be there for you pushing you in the exact direction that you need to go because I've been there. If you want to learn more about how to read and write music, I can help you make those symbols come to life and sound beautiful. The curriculum I will provide will have you feeling ready to perform.
This is a professional class for the actor who wants to take his or her acting to the next level. It is a wholly supportive environment taught by a teacher who is a longtime working actor. Eddie Kehler deeply respects the process an actor goes through to achieve the goals in the work. He is committed to providing a safe space which allows us to go deeper and learn how to truly use our imaginations in the rehearsal process.
