Monica was just what the doctor ordered!! She was punctual, highly efficient, gave timely household tips and even offered helpful suggestions for my new dog -- she was just a wealth of information. Monica did a couple of laborious tasks, which I thought was impossible (cleaning a mountain of clutter from childrens' playroom and making it look absolutely stately, if you can believe that). Also, she cleaned out an overloaded linen closet and took painstaking care to make it more than perfect in a short time. It was a pleasure having her. Today, she is going to set up a bureau drawer. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually charge $20/hour for organizing. For furniture assembly (which may include me picking up and deliverying furniture my my clients home) I charge $75 for the first 3 hours and $15 for each hour after that. If my car is used for me to go on personal errands for my client (grocery shopping for example), gas is paid for my client and my hourly charge continues.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'm always excited to meet a new client or to return for a new project with an existing client. But I usually ask them to take me to their area of need and walk me through what they want or what their vision is and then I just dive right in after I have my bearings and a good idea of how to accomplish what my client needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I read books and keep up to date with online reaerch.
