Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: What I like most about my job are watching dogs playing and having fun. I love taking pictures of them and it is great when I can catch them with a big smile that totally captures their personality. Those are the ones that are fun to attach to the daily report cards. I also love snuggling with affectionate dogs. We spend time on the sofa together watching tv in the evening and it is a really nice time to bond. I love dog smiles and exuberance and taking them for walks, too. And last but not least, I love my customers who all seem to love and care for their pets and have really big hearts for all critters :-)

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure that dog daycare providers ask questions and are concerned about your dog's temperament. If they are not concerned about yours, they won't be concerned about other dogs that they allow into their place of business. Make sure that they check for vaccinations, spay or neutering, along with monthly flea and heartworm prevention. If they don't require these things, your dog can be exposed to many types of diseases and parasites. Vaccinations that should be required are: DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Lepto, ParaInfluenza, Parvo), Bordetella, and Rabies. Be aware that vaccinations can't prevent the spread of all diseases and parasites. The best chance of prevention is to require that all the dogs that come in contact with our own have current vaccinations and heartworm treatments which prevent many types of disease and parasites that spread at dog parks like Parvo, Kennel Cough and Giardia, just to name a few.
