Our new rental home warranty plumbing coverage does not include tile work, but the plumber they dispatched needs a bigger opening behind the mixer on the tile shower wall to confirm the source of the leak. I hired Arisel from AA Cardenas Construction to help me with the tile work. I would have hired him for the plumbing work itself if I had known him earlier and had got to choose my own technician under warranty. From the get-go responding to my Thumbtack request for quote to finishing the job, Arisel had been very responsive, professional, friendly, punctual and helpful. The job was beautifully done! While I was writing the check, knowing the job is being contracted to Home Warranty company Arisel still took the initiative to inspect the leak checking the ceiling downstairs and share with me what he thought the problem might be. With him pointing out, I was convinced that he was spot on! Arisel is apparently a hard working, honest and friendly young man! I will definitely hire him again for future jobs. I highly recommend Arisel.
Amazing!! Dennis had his subcontractor Randy work on a job for us and we could not be more happy. Randy took out flooring in a small bedroom and uses it to patch our living room floor where were missing boards from removing a wall. We had other people look at the job and everyone said it couldn't be done. Randy proved them wrong. He did it in two days! And it's perfect. You would never know there was once a wall as the floor looks completely normal. He even made a great looking threshold for us in between the hardwood and marmoleum leading into our kitchen. Super job! Really happy. Easy to work with. Thank you Dennis!
I found Alfonso's Carpet service through Thumbtack and they were very responsive with my questions. they came out to my house to show samples and provide different options. what i really appreciated that they did was to provide separate quotes for the different types of flooring that i was contemplating, as i was still undecided on what i wanted to move forward with. i had expressed to them that i wanted to get the flooring done ASAP since the house was empty and new furniture was going to be delivered on a specific day. they were able to get the carpet and flooring ordered, delivered and installed with a couple days to spare before my furniture was delivered! i was very pleased with the outcome, the colors selected and the overall service provided!
Fred is awesome. He's professional, responsive and efficient, and also a great guy. He help us ripped off the old rotted deck and removed all the old hardwood floor and shelf/cabinet in the garage with reasonable price. I will definitely ask him for help again in the future.
We needed a wooden deck and concrete patio slab demolished and hauled away. Bogdan's price was excellent and his work superb. He showed up on time, communicated information clearly and timely, and was very courteous. I was especially impressed with his clean up, he hardly left a mess and took the time to make sure there were no stray bits of concrete out on the street. I was very impressed.
Andres refinished hardwood floors for us. It was nicely done on time. He's professional and prompt. Happy with the result.
We hired Eli for a total interior renovation of our newly purchased home, including changing the layout of our first floor, adding a half bath, 2 full bath and 1 kitchen reno, hardwood floor, HVAC, roofing, repiping & electrical work. Total value of the project exceeded 140K, and lasted ~ 4 months. Eli & team delivered good quality work and kept us at our budget. He is a professional with high integrity. He was always responsive, provided helpful, thoughtful and truthful advice, and committed to his promises. Our journey together wasn't without hiccups, but Eli is someone you can trust as a partner battling any challenges together along the way.
Carlos delivered as promised stripping our hardwood floors of a build up from using Bona Floor cleaner as a cleaning product for 11 years which caused them to be dangerously slippery. Everyone else told me I had to completely refinish the floors. They are no longer slippery and look like new.
Fernando did an awesome job on refinishing my engineered hardwood floor. He was prompt, reasonable and kind. He really takes his job seriously and it was refreshing to see. My floors look like brand new floors and he even refinished 2 antique furniture pieces as a bonus!!! I am planning on hiring him to install hardwood flooring in my family room. Thank you Thumbtack!!
Osbaldo just finished a big job at our house that included interior painting (on some very tall walls), replaced the baseboards, repaired some drywall damage and he installed two ceiling fans (one using a 14' ladder -- I couldn't watch!) The house looks gorgeous, the quality of the work was excellent, and Osbaldo and his crew are exceedingly pleasant and professional. I will definitely hire Osbaldo again and will recommend him to my friends and family!
Steve was fantastic to work with, actually the best contractor we had the pleasure of working with on the recent renovation of our house. Steve showed up when he said he would, cleaned up after himself, and most importantly did high quality work. We were installing a very expensive wide plank hardwood floor throughout a 1900 sq ft house and we trusted Steve with this job and he delivered. Would definitely recommend and would hire him again for future projects.
Luis, Patrick and the crew from Luxor Floors are some of the most professional people I've worked with on any home improvement project. Our job was to replace ~1100 sq ft of hardwood floors, a staircase and install new baseboards due to a faucet failure and subsequent water damage. Luis showed up on time to take measurements and discuss options. Their proposal was the most itemized of all the bids we received, but not the most expensive. We appreciated this attention to detail, as there were no surprises as to what was included and what was not. Once we signed the contract to start work the Luxor crew were very quick in removing the existing floors, baseboards and stairs (on the same day). They also provided a dehumidifier to ensure we did not have a mold problem. They were the only contractors that were willing to do this. Once the existing floor was removed, we discovered the sub floor was very uneven. Rather than just floor over it, Luxor floors went to great lengths to ensure it was level before putting our new floor down. This attention to detail and customer satisfaction is what sets Luxor apart from other contractors - they want to do the job well and ensure that you are happy with the finished product. In addition to the kudos I've already given, I appreciated the following: - the work crew always left the site clean at the end of the day and followed our HOA rules without a problem - Patrick and Luis were always responsive to any questions we had about the materials or job in general - no corners were cut when it came to quality If you are looking for quotes for a flooring job be sure to include Luxor Floors in your selection, you won't be disappointed.
I hired Sergey to do a full remodel of one floor (~1,500 sq. ft.) of a house in the Richmond in San Francisco. Full gut of kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and rebuilding of a small extension. The whole space was painted and floors were refinished. Nothing was left untouched. On communication: Sergey is very, very responsive. He will answer all texts, phone calls, emails etc. and if he happens to miss a call (which almost never happened), he returns it in minutes or sends a text to let you know when he can talk. On value: The quality of work is very good. Sergey works with a contractor named Artur who is a whiz at his job. Artur fixed every problem, made a few things I thought were not possible happen, and he was just really, really great. Between Sergey and Artur, they were able to realize the vision I had of my house. We were not significantly over budget. I do wish that Sergey had a better system for reimbursement of receipts. For example, Sergey bought things like trim, siding, and extra plumbing parts that I was to reimburse him for. Though I asked him for receipts multiple times, Sergey would show me pictures of receipts on his phone piecemeal and each receipt contained other purchases of rough materials that he was to be responsible for. Just confusing and difficult to do an accurate accounting. I just ended up paying him what he told me was the amount for all the reimburseable purchases without really seeing the receipts. Do I feel like Sergey fluffed the receipts? No, but I still would have liked a clear accounting of them. Overall, there are little details that were missed like small scratches in the refinished floors possibly made by ladders or tools, areas where paint wasn't retouched, socket plates that were installed sort of loose etc. BUT I am being picky and I can live with those little things. This next bit is the important part. Sergey has continuously made trips here and had workers come fix little things even after this project is technically done. This is a huge bonus and shows a sense of responsibility toward the project and pride in his quality of work that is certainly appreciated. On timeliness: This is where my biggest gripes lie. This was a 4-month project and we took 5 months to complete. Everyone expects delays in construction and I did too. But, it's the way in which the delays happened that frustrates and still irritates me. Work here was about 85% done by the end of month 4. We scheduled movers at the end of month 5 because Sergey promised that everything would be 100% finished in the extra month's worth of time. 10% of the remaining work was dragged out for the next three weeks. I let Sergey know again and again that movers were already scheduled for a certain Friday and that everything had to be finished before then. Sergey said ok and since the only work left to be done was installing all lights, light switches and socket plates, I felt relatively good about everything. The entire week before move-in day, no work happened. Sergey told me all of his workers were coming Friday to do the remaining work. I could not believe this. Friday was move-in day and I had told him I needed time for cleaners to come since everything was very dusty from the construction. There is no other way to summarize the end of the project other than to call it a complete and unmitigated disaster. Sergey had 4 people working while we had movers moving things in and since Sergey had told me cleaners could come that Friday, we had cleaners there at the same time. Things still were not finished and instead of being able to use that Friday night and Saturday to unpack, work was still ongoing so we had to cram all unpacking into that one Sunday. Also, since Sergey had said the house would be ready for cleaners, I hired people to do a move-in clean for $450 which ended up being a total waste because workers were still creating messes everywhere. There was no accountability on Sergey's part for this. The amount of stress created because of the blown timeline was huge. Overall: Basically, everything was going great for 95% of the project. There were small hiccups, a little bit of tension and miscommunication here and there, but honestly everything was going pretty well for such a large project. I am still sour about the end of the remodel which Sergey knows and understands. The project just did not have to end this way and it was his job to make sure of that. However, I do have to emphasize that Sergey is continuing to come back and take care of small issues such as installing toilet paper holders, a heating grate that had been lost but turned up, fixing our shower fixture handle so the water could get hotter, etc. It's been almost a month since we moved in and as time passes, I feel less angry about the end of the project mainly because I am really enjoying the space Sergey created for me and because he is still responsive and taking care of leftover project odds and ends. Will I hire him again? I'm not sure. We have a lot more large-scale work to be done so we will need contractors soon again, but it's hard to say right now. However, it's a strong possibility.
We had hardwood floors installed and were very happy with the quality of work. We appreciated the attention to details. A few times, the crew stopped and asked if a piece of wood was suitable to install. During the estimate, we went over the need to reroute a cable and they were able to do it. We were relieved that we didn't have to hire an electrician. I would have appreciated knowing when they were coming to work...however, they finished in the time frame that was given. I would recommend using them again.
Where do I begin? Mongalo Designs is extremely professional, accommodating, and efficient. They were able to complete the work in my home in only 3 days (2 bedrooms, staircase, hallway, & entryway). They showed up every day (which was my fear having worked with other companies in the past) and even put in extra hours to get the work done. I am so happy with the end result!!! The hardwood floors in my home look brand new!! DO NOT look any further, call Carlos, you will not be disappointed.
Great experience working with Jesus on our hardwood floors. Jesus was our general contractor's subcontractor for hardwood flooring. Out of everyone we worked with on this ~3 months project, he was the best subcontractor. We really trusted his expertise and he made our floors look great, with no squeaks, which is quite a feat for the old house that we have! Even when he suggested some additional work that needed to be done to "flatten" the subfloor, we knew he made the right suggestion and he did the extra work promptly, at a reasonable price, and with great results. We also needed to refinish our old staircase, and it looked so bad that we originally planned to paint it to hide all the damage of the wooden stair treads. But Jesus was able to work his refinishing magic and we now have beautiful, stained stair steps.
Farrell did an excellent job refinishing hardwood floors in my 80 year old house, including original parquet, plank, and stairway treads. He was extremely responsive flexible in coming up with an estimate that fit my budget and timeline. Refinishing floors is way more complicated than I expected at the beginning of the project, and he had great ideas on how to get it done, including how to move furniture around, matching colors/stains to parts of the house I was not touching, and how long everything would take from start to being able to walk on the floors and replace furniture. And he was able to work around other people doing work in various parts of my house without any issues - including someone painting my front porch and main entry to the house. He also worked hard, sometimes late into the evening (I was out of town so it posed no problem to me). I highly recommend Farrell for any job involving wood floors.
These Company is amazing. We were in a time crunch for our hardwood floor install. They promised to be done in 3 days and the 4th day we moved in. Floor is beautiful. I will recommend to my all friends . Thank you, Jon W
CB Wood Floors installed engineered hardwood floors in our office in San Francisco. Chris, the owner, was very patient and flexible and the floor turned out great. The pricing was reasonable. I'd definitely hire them again.
Dave did an outstanding job of refinishing my hardwood floor at a very reasonable price. He was very professional and completed the job on time.
Rafael just completed our dishwasher installation. He cut the existing cabinet and installed the dishwasher. He also made a filler piece to fill the gap between the dishwasher and cabinet. He is very friendly and professional. He is also careful not to damage the hardwood floors. He works very efficient. He also cleans (e.g. dust) while he is working. We hired him to work on other parts of our home after seeing the results of dishwasher installation.
