He has also recently obtained a judgment on behalf of his client for hundreds of thousands of dollars against a European manufacturer for breach of an international sales contract. Mr. Fasel has advised importers and exporters relating to compliance with the US Customs Laws and defended clients in actions brought against them by the United States Customs and Border Protection. Recently, he negotiated an 88% reduction in settlement for a trademark infringement lawsuit brought by two major international fashion companies, saving his client over two-hundred thousand dollars. Attorney Thomas Fasel has also represented clients in Federal Court relating to Bankruptcy litigation and Insurance Bad Faith litigation. He was recently successful in remanding a removed case from U.S. Bankruptcy Court to the State Court, allowing his client to continue to pursue his claims against the defendants for breach of contract and fraud in a real estate transaction. Further, Attorney Fasel represents clients in Bankruptcy Filings, including chapter 7 and chapter 13 cases and immigration matters relating to visas, permanent resident status, and citizenship. Attorney Fasel represents small businesses, restaurants, and bars, advocating on their behalf regarding municipal matters relating to occupancy, licensing, and other government intrusions. He has negotiated several civil compromises on behalf of his clients, convincing government attorneys to drop all criminal charges. Further, Mr. Fasel advises small businesses relating to business formation, partnership agreements, employment law, and other transactional matters. Attorney Fasel represents clients relating to various real estate transactions, representing buyers, sellers, and lenders in a multitude of transactions, including drafting, advising ,and negotiating hard money loans. He has also negotiated modifications to real estate agreements, saving his clients millions of dollars in otherwise mandatory funds and represented clients in real estate litigation relating to breach of contract, fraud, and quiet title actions. Mr. Fasel graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame, Law School, obtaining his highly specialized Master of Law (LL.M.) degree in International and Comparative Law. While studying in London, U.K., he was taught by the world's leading international faculty and professionals and gained a specialized understanding and practice in the areas of International Trade, Carriage of Goods by Sea, Latin American Trade, European Intellectual Property, European Union Law and European/United States Comparative Sales Law. In addition, he wrote his thesis on the emerging necessity of the introduction of the electronic bill of lading. Prior to earning his Master of Law degree, Mr. Fasel worked for the major national law firm of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, LLP, gaining extensive experience defending multinational corporations in variety of complex legal issues. Mr. Fasel earned his Juris Doctor Degree from Chapman University School of Law where he earned the CALI Award for excellence in the area of professional responsibility, as well as serving as an editor on the nationally recognized Nexus Journal of Opinion and working as a law clerk for the United States Attorney, Central District of California. Prior to law school, Mr. Fasel worked as a banker and auditor. Mr. Fasel earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Concordia University in Irvine, CA while simultaneously participating as a collegiate pitcher on the Concordia University baseball team. Additionally, he earned the award for Excellence in Mathematics and served as a mathematics and Latin tutor. Mr. Fasel is a member of the International Law section of the State Bar of California, the International Law section of the American Bar Association and the Orange County Bar Association, International Law Section.
