I look at the person as a whole and create a program that will not only reach short term goals but will build a foundation for a lifetime of fitness. What do you enjoy about the work you do?

    Michelle has been a difference maker in my life! she has been inspiring and motivational during workouts and out of the gym. Although I have been following a regular workout routine seeing Michelle twice a week for personal sessions has taken me to the next level! Through her variation of focused workouts to reach personal goals I have been able to decrease my body fat by almost 5% and in crease strength and muscle mass which has transformed my body! She is a definite MUST if you are looking for that X-factor to make a significant change!

    I’ve been going to Summit Fitness and specifically training with Michelle since about March, 2015. She’s such an awesome trainer, I love and respect her approach to training in that she incorporates a variety approaches, activities, and exercises that range from the typical to the not so typical. For example, for strength training we of course use weights and resistance but she also routinely incorporates yoga and martial arts exercises into the mix which keeps it both interesting and at times dare I say fun! I would also describe her approach to training as being holistic in that she recognizes that it’s not just about building up one’s strength and cardio; flexibility, diet, deep stretching, etc., are as equally important and sometimes entire sessions are devoted to just that which as a long-time runner I know my legs desperately need. I really can’t say enough about her, other things that have been huge plusses for me are 1- she’s a female trainer and as such she has been able to provide a level of comfort I’m not sure I would be able to have with a male trainer especially when doing certain exercises or taking my body measurements and 2- how attentive she is to the needs and goals of all her clients. She genuinely cares about us and her actions prove that… just ask the clients who she has gone athletic shoe shopping with or has met at the track to jump start a running regiment.

    The Best Trainer!
    Michelle has been my personal trainer for almost three years. I train with her two times a week for 120 minutes. She is on time and ready to work everyday. She has developed personalize exercise plans for me that includes aerobic exercise, resistance exercise, and flexibility training. The middle of my second year, I was in car accident. So, Michelle researched equipment and stretching routines to help me after the accident. She will modify a exercise or stretch for my health limitations. Michelle is very positive and makes me motivated. She will educate and instruct me on the muscles I am working on. Michelle always pays close attention to my exercise form. I can see and feel the difference in my body and my health. I highly recommend Michelle, she is a great personal trainer.

    Signing up with Michelle has been the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. She continues to help me achieve my goals and has more patience and passion for me than I do. Her approach in training, nutrition and workout is personal to every client. I’ve made some incredible gains and insights, due to working with Michelle. Summit is a clean gym with some crazy equipment, friendly with a family like feeling. Walking out of there I have quivering legs, a warm body and knowing I did something incredible for myself.     Michelle is incredible. From the initial Meeting she was very supportive of me and my goals and was realistic with me and what I was trying to achieve. It isn't every day that you find a trainer that works for you. Sometimes you meet people and for whatever reason you don't mesh well. For me, Michelle is amazing. She is knowledgeable, smart, interactive and very consistent in pushing me forward. It's only been a couple of weeks, but I can already feel Myself getting stronger. I have no doubt that with Michelle's guidance that I will get where I would like to be.

    Had 1st session with Michelle she was very professional and easy to talk to. She picked up on a lot of imbalances in my body and took her time to show me how i can work twards correcting them.     Asking for help is never easy. Asking for help when you have failed to get results in the past and on your own is even harder. It takes a skilled trainer, empathetic listener, and a motivating demeanor to really put someone like me at ease and TRUST the plan. Michelle is all of this, and more.     I've just started with Michelle, but have liked my first 3 sessions so far! She is knowledgeable, friendly, and encouraging. Most importantly she is flexible with her schedule because I have a difficult work schedule. I plan to keep her as my personal trainer probably for at least a year. She helps me feel motivated!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There is no additional membership for Summit Fitness. Each personal training session is $50/hr and group training sessions (2 or more people are $35/hr). Training sessions can be purchased in packages, ex: 10, 15, 30 sessions etc. and payments can be made on the total of these packages. I have an introductory package of 8 sessions for $300 as a thumbtack special.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I set up initial assessment meetings where we meet, talk about needs and desires for training, and complete an introductory workout that allows me to address fitness level, joint range of motion, flexibility, and cardiac capacity. After this assessment, I have enough information to create a customized program.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine for personal training and corrective exercise. I also have 10 years experience in competitive martial arts.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with clients ranging in ages from 13-65 and ranging from extreme weight loss to marathon runners looking to improve their performance.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When looking for a trainer, the most important thing to consider is your working relationship with that person. Is the trainer someone you can work with? Do you like their style? Do you agree with their program? Do they listen to your concerns? Do they know how to modify exercises if you are feeling pain? Are they going to push you and challenge you? Ask these questions so you can find the best fit for you.
