Introduction: As the Author of "An Essential Foundation for Guitar" and a working session guitarist, I offer an accelerated learning path for guitarists in all styles and levels (Beginner to Advanced). My lessons include a ton of shortcuts and secret that will help your playing improve consistently, steadily and quickly!
My method will give you a clear picture of the entire fretboard including chords / scales / music theory / ear training / songwriting while having fun playing the songs you Love!
For Beginners: I can get you up to speed and playing a variety of songs in a short amount of time.
For Intermediate to Advanced students: I can help you with learning any song or guitar solo by ear. I am happy to share all my tips and tricks for sounding like a pro lead guitarist as well as material for improvising over any set of chord changes.
I enjoy seeing my students’ progress whether it’s playing blues, rock, heavy metal or improvising over Jazz changes. The sky is the limit for your playing and I am happy to share what I have learned in the 38 years I have been playing and teaching.
Education: Bachelors Degree from Berklee College of Music ('94).

Brian is an amazing teacher with a very calm demeanor. I am in my 50's and brand new to guitar and he was able to get me to play and understand music and build my confidence. After 2 lessons I'm already playing a Bob Dylan song that I love.

Brian is an awesome guitar player and teacher! He's kind, patient and very knowledgeable. I feel like I've learned so much in just a few lessons and I'm looking forward to becoming a better player under his tutelage. I like his teaching style (patient and encouraging) and getting to choose the songs I learn makes practicing so much more enjoyable.
Lastly, he comes to my house for my lesson, he's always on time and his rates are reasonable!

Brian is professional, considerate and kind, could get you play any songs you pick super fast and complement lessons with necessary basic trainings. Has a variety of gears in his studio so no need for you to bring your own all the way there. Yes the charge is higher than many other tutors but for a smooth & enjoyable learning process it's always worth it. P.S. Brian could write down the music for guitar part accurately just by listening to the songs and immediately teach it to you! Highly recommend.

We decided to chose Brian for my teenage daughter's beginning guitar lessons due to his willingness to teach her the type of songs that she wanted. Right away he connected with her and her music. He taught her the theory behind playing guitar as well as teaching her the tricks and skills of how to play the guitar. His practices were enjoyable and not just rote. She learned very quickly and therefore stayed excited about learning. Brian was always very complementary and encouraging. Brian also helped us buy useful equipment like a tuner, etc. She always felt safe and comfortable. We would highly recommend Brian as a guitar teacher.

Brian is an excellent guitar teacher. Always patient, motivating, and very knowledgeable. And he absolutely knows his stuff and is crazy talented at guitar. He has a ton of material that you can use if you just want to learn anything, but he can also learn and teach basically any song that you want within one minute of hearing it, even if he didn't know it before. He's also just easy to work with - very flexible and accommodating, always on time, and he sends reminders ahead of every lesson. Overall a fantastic teacher - I've already improved a lot at guitar, and more importantly, it's been a fun process. Definitely highly recommended!
