I cannot say enough about Thinque Prep and Joyee Lin. He is dedicated to his students success and does a very thorough job of preparing them for the ACT or SAT test. My son, Zack, who is very bright but requires a lot of patience worked with Joyee over the summer and brought his composite ACT score up from 30 to 33. His math score increased a full 4 pts. and he scored a 35 in English. Thinque Prep has other services related to tutoring and college application preparation. Zack will be working with Joyee on his college application essays. Joyee is in California and we are in Texas but this was never an issue as the sessions are done via video chat. The office manager Jen was great to work with and the appointment process was easy to navigate. I found the rates to be very competitive for like services. If there was a way to give extra stars I would!!

A fantastic tutor Antonio has been an amazing tutor for me over the past year. I always look forward to my Italian lessons with Antonio and feel as though I have accomplished something when they are finished. I have become more confident in Italian that allows me to enjoy practicing the language every time I visit Italy. I sincerely appreciate his work and would seriously recommend him and his highly effective teaching style to any student.

With a growing business, especially throughout LATAM, Spanish comprehension quickly became a must for me. I have been a student of Fabian for over 4 years and his coaching style has enabled me to not only comprehend Spanish, but also has accelerated my conversational proficiency. Fabiano has also been instrumental in translating many time sensitive legal documents from Spanish to English. I would highly recommend Fabian for Spanish lessons regardless of proficiency and also recommend his translation services.

Miss Marguerite is a great piano teacher. She approaches her music lessons through a variety of techniques and methods that always keeps our daughter engaged. She teaches her music theory, music appreciation, rhythm, play by ear and the ability to read music. She differentiates the needs of each of her students and taps into their styles and preferences. Our daughter has learned a lot under her tutelage.

Patricia has given English lessons to our 3 children, 2 hours a day, for 2 months in May and June 2015 in France. As French native speakers, the objective was to make them all feel at ease in English (spoken and written) in order to join an international English speaking school in September. Camille, 13 years old, had already some school knowledge of English, and Sarah, 11 years old, had very few knowledge of English. Despite of that, the 2 girls decided to take the lessons together and Patricia adapted very well to the level of each girl, making them feel as taking nearly private lessons, sharing perfectly her time between the 2 girls. She was able to use the strengths and weaknesses of each girl to build a team spirit to achieve each of them goal : good communication skills for interpersonal relations and a good written level to adapt to academic learnings. Cyrille, 7 years old, didn't have any knowledge of English and the objective was to get him used to listen and understand basic English. Again Patricia succeeded in this goal perfectly. Cyrille was very scared to start his first lesson and did not want to go, but after all he did not want the first lesson and all the others to stop ! Patricia was always extremely patient, enthusiastic, positive, constructive and fun all the time ! The children did theoretical exercices, as well as some practical ones, such as cooking or shopping, and of course lots of conversation. They all loved the lessons with her. Today, after one month of schooling in English, we can confirm that Patricia’s lessons were very helpful and allow our children to succeed in getting well-adapted to their new environment and working methods. Therefore, I highly recommend Patricia as a tutor as she is highly competent, efficient, and able to adapt to all type of levels and ages, from young boy to teenager.

Whenever I have a high stakes assignment, I take it to Oliver. He never disappoints. Whether its a History DBQ, an English literary analysis, or a letter of recommendation, Oliver makes it better. His analytical mind and command of the language are untouchable.

She is great! I was in need of a SAT english tutor in order to compete for a spot at the United States Military Academy at West Point. She showed up on time and if needed would stay extra to make sure I actually improved. I was extremely confident heading into my test and was accepted into West Point. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of any help with english. In addition, she helped me with writing a letter to West Point on why I want to attend. She is great!!!

He is a really outstanding teacher. His patience always let me feel very related in his classes. Because I am a International student, and my teachers never used English to teach students before, sometimes I can be very nervous and confused in what teachers say in America classes. But Earl really gives me confidences, which make me believe I can overcome the difficulties I met in my study. Moreover, he really impresses me when he teaches me SAT writing, due to the reason that he separates long sentences for me and tells me which different functions of which different parts of them; this method is very useful for International students such as me. However, few teachers use this method to teach students when they cannot understand the meanings of the long and difficult sentences. Honestly, he did really give me lots of help.

Ms. O'Brien has been teaching Spanish to my sons for the past 12 months. Ms. O'Brien is a tremendous professional who always comes well prepared with daily lessons. She also makes the learning process fun by incorporating relevant everyday-life topics into her lesson plans. My sons enjoy their time with Ms. O'Brien, and more importantly, are learning a great deal of Spanish. I highly recommend Ms. O'Brien.

About

I have lived and taught English abroad in Costa Rica and Brazil, as well as traveled throughout Europe and South America. I am fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. For the past couple years, I have been teaching kids classes (as well as tutoring adults) anything from creative writing to art, Spanish and geography. I am a very enthusiastic and creative person, which helps me bring very unique and fun activities to class. I always accommodate my lessons based on the student's level and specific need or interest just like for example, if you need to learn English for business or work or perhaps you need to learn some conversational Spanish for traveling. Everyone is unique so I like to make all of my lessons unique as well. No matter what, we always have a good time!
