FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For my portrait and event work I charge $75 an hour. If you have a budget I can work within that too. I need at least one hour for a portrait, for one to two people. I need at least 60-90 minutes to shoot your real estate property. All my work is professionally edited before it leaves my office and depending on the event, can usually be delivered within 48 hours to two weeks of the shoot. I've rarely taken two weeks to edit event work but ask for that time to insure optimal quality for the images. It takes time to go through all the images, decide which ones work best and then edit them properly. For portraits and events, I deliver magazine quality images that you'll be very happy with. Real estate and vacation home prices start at $150 for a home measuring 1000 sq. ft., or less and can go up from there. I've never charged more than $300 for a home. Those images are delivered by email within 48 hours of the shoot to insure a timely sale/ rental for my clients. My real estate clients usually want 24 images for their sites. Again, it takes time to go through all the images, and to make sure you are receiving the best images that realistically represent your home.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
As a portrait photographer it's my job to help you feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera to insure you get the perfect images. Posing is important and many of us rarely pose in real life, so it's up to me to make you look as natural as possible. As a real estate photographer, my process is to find out where the home is, check out the neighborhood and time of optimal lighting to get the best images for your home. I make your home inviting with the natural lighting it provides, placing items or furniture in an inviting way that will appeal to buyers or renters. Sometimes a bottle of wine, two glasses, and a candle or two make a big difference in an image.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked in the entertainment business for 20 years as a stage technician. I've worked in Rock and Roll, major theatrical productions, and corporate events. I've been a photographer, professionally for the last 15. Shooting weddings, parties/ events, landscape/nature. I also sell my art on Fine Art America. I volunteer my time with Paws Pet Ranch in Morongo Valley and The Coachella Valley Animal Campus in Thousand a Palms, photographing their dogs, cats, and any other critters they have on site. I believe all animals deserve the dignity to be shown in their best light, with the hope that they will be adopted by loving, long term families. I also do portraits with people and their pets.
