Introduction: As the official language of the 22 Arab states, Arabic language plays a major role in day-to-day life. For non-native speakers of the language in other countries, it could really set you apart in business and help you to impress or work with some of the senior companies and government bodies. As with all languages, there are many dialects. For Arabic, the common is the modern standard Arabic or the MSA. The Arabic Language Studies Center or the ALSC takes care of almost all the major dialects in use such as the Levantine Arabic, which is the dialect of Levant region, including Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine/Israel, Iraqi/Gulf Arabic, Yemeni Arabic, Egyptian and Sudanese Arabic and the Arabic of North Africa or Al Maghrib Al Arabi States. These dialects include some different accents. As a San Diego center, the ALSC takes care of the MSA and other Arabic dialects in teaching and researching.
