My experience with MarkShane and his group of professional trainers has been one that will last a long time in my mind and heart. The staff is curtious, kind and know their job well. I tried losing weight on my own with no success, but after coming here I emedietly lost weight and became a new person. I would recomend them to family and friends and anyone seeking professional help in weight loss training and healthy nutritional guidance.
Bo is type of trainer that push clients to be faster and stronger. He creates workout goals with client base on their fitness level, but at the same time building client's endurance. He also cares about client's nutrition, making recommendations to improve client's diet. His boot camp work out classes priced very reasonable, so I highly recommend to anyone.
When asked about doing the Sifu Challenge... Working out at 5am, 6 days a week, for 8 weeks... the first red flag was 5 AM!!!! I wanted it to be at another time, but then I started thinking "What time would be better?" 6am to 7am, I would have a conflict about 2 days a week. 5pm? I would have a conflict 4 days a week. 5 AM!, I had no conflict, except sleep, and it was way to early to commit. My second thought was imagining what my life would be like without doing the challenge, or with doing the challenge. Without doing the challenge, though I was in what was considered good shape, I wanted to tone up, loose a few pounds, and increase endurance. Being an actor, there is a big difference between being "in shape", and being camera ready in shape. The Sifu Challenge, is what I needed to align with my goals. Looking at my life without the course, nothing would change, I would still have my complaints and unfulfilled goals, and aspirations. With the course I would be in line with how I see myself, and could reach my goals in a short period of time. 5 am, would mean I needed to be up, 3 1/2 hours after going to bed. I made the decision, a no brainer, to join the Challenge, and once that was made, the rest was awesome. There is something very empowering about getting up at 4:25am just for yourself, driving to the school just for yourself, and having a workout session set up and designed just for you, with other people set out to accomplish the same goal. It's like a portal opening up in the universe, for your physical transformation, that then vanishes at 6:15am. We all arrive, workout, and leave in an hour. Sifu pushes you, somewhat, but it really is up to you to push yourself. Results will come with minimal effort, but real breakthroughs come with challenging yourself to make tomorrows reps more than today. Its easy to see results in the melting and sculpting of your body, but it is difficult to know the results strength wise, as you are increasing the number of reps you are doing... i.e. in 2 min. if you do 20 bench presses, of light weight the first week, and you are doing 40 the second with slightly more weight, you still reach a point where you can't do more, and the number what ever it is... is just a number. Muscle confusion, the "Swallow challenge", cardio, and friends. No matter where you are now, out of shape, "in shape", weak or strong... you need to take the challenge! I did, and my life has altered. I just turned 45, and I can honestly say I have more strength, endurance, and physical fitness, then I ever have. In working out with Roger for the last year, I can only say that the fitness, weight loss and muscle gain was not happening while working out alone. I was running regularly and doing a little weights but nothing like what I am now getting done with Roger. He pushes you way beyond what you think you can do, its amazing to get done with a work out and you realize what you just accomplished. Angie is our fitness trainer at the San Diego Tech Center and teaches classes ranging Core Strength, High Intensity Interval Training, Strength Training to Boot Camp. She makes classes fun, keeps pushing us push our limits, switches things up if she senses we are plateauing. She is very friendly and extremely approachable, be it advising on specific personalized exercises, diet, injuries, or just general health. Just by attending her classes, I can lift heavier at the gym. My flexibility, core strength and endurance have all significantly improved. This helps me tremendously while playing those long league level tennis matches. I have also been injury free, since her workouts target all major and minor muscle groups. I worked with Matt in San Diego for ~2 years -- after finishing rehab from a serious skiing accident I wanted to get strong again. My son has been frequenting a boot-camp at his school and also attending class with Bryan on Saturdays. I have definitely seen a difference in his stamina, coordination and weight loss. Bryan is patient with the kids and helps motivate them with positive words and encouragement. He inspires my son to do his best and come to class. He gives a workout that is adaptable for the level that they are at as kids but also adjusts it if there are adults in the group. I recommend this class to all.
I've had the privilege to train with Quinn as a personal trainer and to attend some of his boot-camp style classes. I am a well-trained endurance cyclist and I teach indoor cycle classes. Quinn structured my workouts to focus on body parts I didn't use cycling, and he challenged me without being a jerk. I have a masters degree in Exercise Physiology, so I know my stuff. Yet each session, Quinn surprised me and made me stronger. Some women in my cycle classes even asked me how I got my arms to look so good! I love his can-do, no bullying style.
