FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Definitely, you'll find a sketchbook with me at all times to capture life and inspiration in the moment. I attend life drawing workshops to keep my chops up, read books on my craft from the old and contemporary masters, and attend conferences and workshops where I meet up with other professionals and share our approaches, business models, and techniques.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I placed my bet on fate and flipped a quarter at the end of my junior year in high school. I decided heads was music and tails was art. It landed on tails and my heart dropped to the floor. I mourned music for a brief moment and moved forward with my decision in stride. I made the right choice, since I was determined to find fulfillment in either craft, there was no way I could fail. Plus, I still get to write songs as a hobby and jam with bands every now and again ;)
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I create a lot of character design and environment art for video game clients. I'm currently illustrating a graphic novel, taking private portrait commissions, and I teach life drawing and painting workshops through The School of Light & Color in Fair Oaks.
