Introduction: Hi! My name is Debby Adelman and the owner of Creative Spaces Interior Design, Inc., and I'd like to tell you more about myself. First off, I love my job! This is a second career for me. Previously, I was in corporate accounting which allows me to bring in a whole different level of skill sets to the table. I am very sensitive to the budget and try to find ways to stay within my clients perimeters. In 2011 I went back to school to obtain and complete my education in Interior Design at Otis College of Arts & Design. Since then, I was featured in the June 2016 issue of Los Angeles Magazine and the August 2017 issue of ARCH Magazine for full remodel and addition in Echo Park. I was the interior designer and brought in every one from the architect who drew my concept, the general contractor, through the craftsmen for many many of the custom pieces. I enjoy working on both residential and commercial spaces. For every project I take on big or small, I am there every step of the way as project manager. I ensure the work is done as planned, handle any issues that should arise, and am always communicating with my client and third party vendors to ensure a smooth completed project. I am on the journey with my clients from inception through completion. My designs are custom to each project and at the end of the day, this is their space, and my job to deliver their dream. I love what I do and passion shows through my designs. I am not your average cookie cutter designer.

Debby and Creative Spaces was absolutely wonderful, creative, and completely turned our home's sore spots into wonderful highlights. We truly appreciated her flexibility and helpfulness. We will definitely hire Debby again for any new projects, and highly recommend her to anyone. She designed a wonderful new play space for my children and they finally have their own space to play in and have fun. The new patio she designed is perfect! It's now the perfect outdoor lounging spot for my family. We just had a party and our guests loved being out there. Debby is fantastic and highly recommend her!

I enlisted Debby's expertise on a remodel of my 3 bedroom home and couldn't be happier that I did. Debby provided room by room drawings and a Pinterest board with items to purchase. Originally, I wasn't sure what overall look I was going for but Debby explained different styles of design to me, provided examples and worked with me to mix and match based on my preferences. She then worked closely with me to find items that fit my aesthetic and minimal budget. I was able to reach out to her with any questions via text and email and she responded quickly. I also appreciated the constant communication about likes and dislikes on the Pinterest board; it was a two-way street where I could post things I had or liked and Debby would let me how to incorporate it and she would post and I could comment then the plan would be updated accordingly. The final drawings were done in a week and Debby was sure to include the large pieces that I already own so I was spending the least amount on big purchases. Her suggestions about how to move furniture and get the most use out of my small space was invaluable! I appreciated her attention to detail and I really felt that she knew exactly what I was looking for before I even did! Overall, It was such an enjoyable process and I am so glad that I went with Debby!

Working with Debby was a great pleasure. As soon as I met her, she was more like a friend than just my interior Designer, which made me feel comfortable. I was overwhelmed with choices of colors and accessories, but Debby solved that problem. She got to work immediately when she saw my home and gave me great advise and found me some stunning pieces to work with by her diligent research at various stores. I took her advise, and what was a drab house, now looks like a million bucks! Thanks Debby for everything. You are not only a great person, but a terrific designer. You are the best!

We've had a great experience working with Debby. From the moment we first sat together to talk for the first time, Debby made us feel comfortable. She listened to our wants, needs and concerns and came up with a great solution to our living space that was bit of a head scratcher at first glance. We particularly loved how involved she was at every stage of the process. She's there when the work is being done making sure it happens according to plan. And if the plan needs to adjust, she's there to let you know right away so you can make the timely decisions needed to move the work forward. I would definitely hire Debby again and recommend her to anyone looking for fun, out of the box solutions for updating your space.

Debby was great to work with. She took time to get to know us and really understand what we wanted to do with our space. She gave us many options in selecting pieces which allowed us to pick our favorites. Our home transformed into a place we can be proud of and Debby played a large part in that.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have three billing structures depending on the scope of work. A simple design plan with 3D visuals, a Pinterest board, and a budget, I typically charge a flat rate. Consulting projects I typically charge an hourly rate of $125 per hour. For larger projects and project management, that includes all of the above, I charge 15% of the entire budget.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet with my potential clients and get a feel for them, for their style, and their needs. Trust is the most important factor when working with a client. Client's need to feel comfortable with me, and I with them. Most times I am working in a space when my clients are not home and they need to feel secure. That is the primary reason I never charge for the initial meeting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended OTIS College of Art and Design and obtained my certificate in Interior Design.
