Chef Laura Clumeck is the chef and owner of Coalescence LLC in Los Angeles, CA. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Chef Laura is a fiercely creative and passionate individual. She is an accomplished chef, artist, actor, dancer, educator and entrepreneur.
Laura received her bachelor's degree in fine arts, studying theatre and education at the University of California, Irvine, and the University of Exeter in England. While having the opportunities to study, travel and perform internationally, her enthusiasm and love for food flourished. Laura continued her formal education in Hollywood, California, receiving a diploma in Professional Culinary Arts, from Le Cordon Bleu (formerly Kitchen Academy). It was here that she gained valuable knowledge about cooking techniques, sanitation, food safety and professionalism in the culinary industry.
Laura has had the pleasure of working for various celebrities and star-studded events including Barbara Streisand, Julian Lennon, The Governor's Ball at the Emmy's and record release parties for Grammy Award winners, including Rihanna. Nonetheless, all clients receive the same celebrity treatment from Chef Laura.

Laura is working for me as a chef and teacher for teens of all ages. She has an incredibly large class and manages delegating cooking responsibilities to each of them, deals with classroom management, teaches different cooking techniques, explains recipes and how to tweak them when necessary and creates incredible dishes with these teens. Each week the class size is different and she manages the change. The teens have fun with her as she is attentive engaging. She teaches kitchen safety and is super creative with the minimal kitchen equipment she has to work with at our synagogue. She brings and cooks healthy recipes as well as themed and cultural recipes. She not only teaches a teen cooking class but she leads special cooking activities for group retreats and incorporates the outside community that benefits others when she led a cooking class for teens and the local firemen. Laura is an artist and her art is cooking and teaching cooking to so many.

The job was feeding a "mob" of Israeli guys (mostly guys, few females) over the holiday weekend. I provided the backyard, the ingriediants and music. Laura from Coalescence provided the rest (for a very fair fee, I might add). She arranged the menu, gave me an accurate material list to buy and instructions on what to do before she shows up. I followed instructions and as soon as she showed up, she took charge, cooked everything, prepped the plates, set up the tables and fed the "mob". I got the credit from my friends for finding her and letting her do her thing. Party tuned out to be great. All my guests were stuffed and happy. I was happy that it made me look very "domestic" and a professional host. I was able to impress the ladies (even thought I did almost nothing and Laura did it all). Win - win - win for everyone. I highly recommend hiring Laura, but I also recommend getting out of her way and letting her do it her way. She knows what she's doing and you, as a host, can't lose!

I decided to gift my husband with a private couples cooking class in our home for Valentine's Day. Laura was fabulous and we had the most memorable evening. We do a little cooking ourselves, but she taught us tons of tips and tricks and we tackled recipes that would've normally intimidated us.
Laura was so fabulous that I booked her to come and cook for my dad's birthday. It was the perfect gift and my parents absolutely loved it.
I can't recommend Laura enough! If you have an event, want a private cooking lesson, or a private chef, definitely give Laura a call.

I had a personal cooking lesson at my apartment. She taught me how to cook and make stuffed chickens and sautéed green beans. 1 on 1 service impressed me about the lesson. Laura was very punctual and professional. She had all the tools of the trade that we needed to complete the meal. The quality of her work was outstanding. I can't wait until our next session. Off hand I can't think of anything that went wrong. I highly recommend choosing Laura if you are interested in being a better cook.
