Introduction: Hello, My name is Mike Sterner. I have 18 years of experience doing concrete coatings. Epoxy/polyspartic floors to be axact, and concrete overlays. I take pride in my work. I love doing coatings the right way and getting the job done right the first time. The difference between epoxy and polyspartic is that epoxy doesn't come with a moisture barrier in the basecoat. The clear doesn't have an anti slip in it, and it's slippery. Epoxy clear coat is not uv stable, so it turns yellow over time, and it's not a 1 day floor. Polyspartic, on the other hand, is a lot different. I can do the floor in 1 day as opposed to an epoxy floor, taking 3 days to install. The Polyspartic basecoat comes with a moisture barrier to protect the floor from moisture failure. The way it works is I broadcast the flakes, scrape the floor smooth, and then I put a high solid polyspartic clearcoat with an anti slip in it. The Polyspartic clearcoat is uv stable. It will not yellow like epoxy, and it's not slippery. I personally recommend polyspartic all day!!
