What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Depends on the job, larger jobs are usually done by bid and contract. Smaller repair work is done on a Time & Materials basis billed at $85/hr.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Receive a call requesting service. Set an appointment. Review the scope of work and approximate cost. Complete the work. Make sure the customer is completely satisfied with the end result.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started plumbing as a helper to my father due to a lack of daycare. I would tag along with him and be a "go fer" for tools and materials. Over the years I learned the trade and later apprenticed full time.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do a little research online before choosing who you work with. These days there is ample feedback from other customers to get an idea of a providers ability and service record.
