FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's a little difficult to quote a set hourly rate for repair work. We take on small repair jobs as well as bathroom remodels, kitchen remodels, complete home renovations. There are different rates to be considered for different trade work involved in repairs and remodels. I prefer to keep things simpler and more defined and quote a price on a job, rather than an hourly rate which could leave the customer with an unknown total cost of repair until the job is complete. I find that keeps everyone more at ease rather than hoping that something that should only take an hour or so doesn't result in an invoice for half a days work as an example. Providing free estimates is a simple way to see what the project is going to cost. Of course that does still leave the possibility of hidden structural damage on a remodel until the demolition, so that cost is always given a set hourly rate/plus materials and in such instances I still quote the additional repair cost total to be approved prior to work being performed.
