Central Air Conditioning Installation or Replacement

Larry was extremely, extremely responsive to my inquiry and my needs. He provided a thorough analysis of my current situation and made recommendations that were detailed in their scope. I would strongly recommend Dooley’s Heating & Air.

My house was an old badly designed house in Vacaville that was hard to keep cool in the summer. Larry's firm moved re-engineered the entire heating/cooling system as well as installed solar. Now the house is perfect in any season and sips electricity. Love it!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    I invented the virtual appointment.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

The primary position over my career with service technician. As a service technician I obtained and maintained six Nate certifications. Including heat pump repair installation specialist which I still hold. I have renewed this for over 20 years with continuing education credits of 90 hours per year. I am also a BPI certified building analyst professional. This is a building science certificate and is held by less than 10% of HVAC trades persons. I have held this certification for 10 years renewed every two years with 100 hours of continuing education credit. I am a noted expert on electrification and high-performance heat pump systems including central heating and cooling, heat pump water heating systems, Solar, energy storage. I am currently on the advisory board of the Building Decarbonization Coalition and have been a consultant and contributor on many levels in the electrification circles

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

In 1981 I graduated from high school wanting to follow in my father’s footsteps I went to air conditioning school in Phoenix Arizona. I have been continuously in the HVAC trade ever since. My partner completed HVAC school 25 years ago he started his own company Dooleys heating and air. In 2019 we decided to join forces and “Dooleys Electrify My Home” was born. In 2010 I became a building science nerd. And obtained my first BPI certification as a building analyst. Since then I have more than 12:00 of continuing education credits in building science related topics including building envelope, building shell insulation, moisture movement, gas and electric air-conditioning and heat pumps. In 2014 I designed and installed my first net zero comfort system. A high-performance inverter heat pump system with enough Solar to ask that it’s cost in both heating and cooling season. Since then I have designed over 250 of the systems that are now in use all across the greater Bay area and I 80 Corredor.
