Our son has been going to Gaving and Grayson at UpRock for over a year now and loves it plus is making great progress. This is all due to the great instruction and how the staff relate to younger students and they make it both fun and interesting personalizing the songs to the kids tastes and generally demonstrating a passion for their role as instructors. I am very impressed and would have no hesitation in recommending UpRock for your guitar lessons.
Kevin has excellent skills in teaching both kids and adults. No matter if your an experience or a begginer. He has been teaching my son for almost 8 months now and there is a signifant improvement in his playing. Im an amature drummer. I play at parties and bars occasionally.I also take lessons from him from time to time when time permits. I would highly recomend Kevin.
The number of styles Ty can teach is unmatched. Ty's interpersonal skills make him a great person to see every week. I always look forward to my lessons. At my age, I need a good teacher to motivate me to learn. Ty is a master at tailoring the lesson to the students ability. He taught me several things that I needed to move to the next level. He can assess my weaknesses and and focus my attention where I need to improve. When my rudiments needed attention, Ty added challenging rudiments to my practice schedule. He always adjusted those rudiments to my abilities. When meter was my weak link, Ty added simple beats and clock sync exercises. Always, the challenges were at the right level to prevent frustration and encourage me to improve. I highly recommend Ty for drum lessons. Also, I have begun learning guitar. Again, Ty's ability to teach is proving him to be a good guitar teacher as well.
It has always been a musical learning experience beyond the notes on the page for me working with Bob. His knowledge of the history of both the instrument and the music, enriches the learning experience. Bob gives more than just quality music lessons. He shares his in depth knowledge and experience earned over a lifetime of playing and teaching in every lesson.
Craig is an excellent guitar instructor. He tailors my lessons to my music al interest, and is the only teacher who helps me focus on mental preparation (for performance confidence). He has helped me develop physical techniques such right hand exercises, looping practices for increasing tempo and learning the fretboard. Playing the notes of music is just one part of playing an instrument... playing with dynamics makes the music more alive and enjoyable. Craig has taught me this as well. When I met Craig 15 months ago he told me he could help me to become a musician vs. a guitarist. I'm on my way because of Craig's interest in me as an individual and his genuine encouragement. I want to practice everyday because I'm excited to see my improvement through specific drills and methods. Craig has taught me how to practice which is incredibly important.
Jerry is an enthusiastic, skilled, young violin teacher, tirelessly going the extra mile each time, with violin lessons for my daughter. With his highly motivating, fun and skilled gestures, he builds confidence to perform better.
This is my fourth attempt at guitar lessons. The others, though semi successful, were not particularly interesting nor invigorating. This has been a much different experience. The lessons are actually fun...FUN...to do while the entire guitar is being used immediately! I have learned so much and I finally understand the big picture. I can begin to conceptualize what I'd like to hear and do, then actually do it. Before I was just following music or chord progression sheets without being able to put it all together, just go from one song or exercise to another. I still have a long way to go, but I can see the difference! Andrew's personality and approach causes me to push myself more than before, because I am not playing at guitar, I am actually playing. I also like and appreciate how Andrew adapts the guitar education to each person's skill and aptitude. Offering classes that are "jam" sessions is a lot of fun and increases the focus while learning important techniques and concepts. I have not taken all of the various classes yet, but I am certainly intending to! If you have put your guitar down because it got boring or you got too busy, time to dust it off and join the fun! If you've never picked up a guitar because it seemed hard or you felt that you would never amount to the artists on the radio, come try it out. You will not be disappointed! It is worth this investment in your time and yourself.
Rich Ayala has been the best guitar teacher my son has ever had. Rich has taught him more in two years than he learned in three years with other instructors. Rich has a way of letting the student learn the rudiments of the guitar while teaching music the student wants to play. We also like him on a personal basis.
Kevin is a great teacher. He's incredibly patient and encouraging, and explains things in a way that's easy to follow even as a novice. He never makes me feel inadequate or makes me doubt my abilities. His musical talents also go beyond playing and teaching guitar- he can play other instruments as well, knows all about recording, and has a vast knowledge about music in general.
JJ is a very accomplished guitar player and a very good instructor. Not only can he play guitar, but he's also great at mandolin, banjo and the pedal steel guitar. I would gladly recommend him to any friends or family wanting to learn how to play any of these instruments.
We create a customized lesson plan together, so you can learn what you like. I believe that keeping interest is important for beginning guitarists.
Hear me play ,you'll wanna play !

Learn music reading, music theory, and bass guitar lessons by an experienced bass player. I have been a musician since 1965.
I teach in a way that compliments a students strong points yet improves weaknesses. I never teach a 1 way fits all lesson plan.
I teach how to play guitar in 12 lessons. I'm bilingual and I can teach individuals 12 years of age up. My method is very simple to comprehend. I have the gift to teach and give the student the enjoyment and excitement to play such a wonderful instrument.

Well, I teach guitar. I can teach the basics -- chords, notes, scales, structure, and timing. I can also teach any style for those who want to know more.
Attention: Please contact me via text or email. I have been playing guitar for about 10 years, and I wish to share my knowledge. I specialize in teaching how to write original music. I have been performing live music since 2005, touring around the United States. I enjoy teaching beginner guitar courses to show basic chord progressions and how to incorporate those into writing original music. My teaching philosophy is that I like to make my students aware of the best guitar chords and techniques for a beginner to start with, which will make them familiar with the process of the big picture; a large part of that is also teaching what the student wants to learn. This approach makes the student want to continue playing and practicing the guitar, as opposed to sending them home with all different types of exercises, which can seem overwhelming and, sometimes, boring. Each one of my students receives a 10-minute CD with fun drum beats to play along with (when the time is appropriate, everyone learns at a different pace), as well as session recordings to teach them some basic recording techniques and to listen to what they have been learning. I hold lessons at my home in Dixon, CA, which is the most appropriate place to start with the lessons. I am willing to travel within a reasonable distance in the surrounding areas (additional fees will apply). I have a few packages to choose from. Standard rates are $40 per 1-hour session or $140 per month for 4 one-hour sessions per month. Also inquire about 30-minute sessions.
Hello! My name is Jesse Szabo, and I've been playing guitar for almost 10 years and professionally for 3 years. I use an extremely personalized approach to teaching that utilizes my students' strengths and weaknesses to round them out as a player. Whether it's theory, note reading, soloing, or just want to have fun learning your favorite song, we can do that. I'm excited to meet you and start learning! If you are learning on an electric guitar, all I ask is that you have some kind of amplifier at your residence because I cannot bring an extra. Other than that, I will determine what materials we need.
