What a fantastic experience. He went beyond the original install of our TV. I called him back when my closet shelf collapsed and he was there to repair immediately.

They did an amazing job. My roommates words were “it’s scary how clean it is”. They showed up 5 mins early as well! I will keep using them again. Thanks for the great work!

We had a small room we need expanded by taking out the closet and pushing the wall out. Every step of the way, Mike handled this project with competence and professionalism. He accomplished the job in about 30 hours, much faster than I believed possible. It looks great. Thank you Mike

Houman was able to assemble and mount a specialty entertainment center for me. It was not an easy job, but he got it done. He was very meticulous in his work, very polite, and fair priced. I recommend him others looking for similar work.

Roger put together a queen size Murphy bed from Costco for us at an extremely reasonable price. He was very professional, thorough, punctual, and talented! He is a perfectionist so made sure that everything was done correctly and looked great! He was more than willing to come back the very next day to help us with some other projects- building and hanging cabinets, assembling a toddler bed and hanging drapes and pictures. All A-plus work! I am looking forward to hiring him again to build a closet and mount TVs for us next!! I don't think there is anything Roger can't do, he's super skillfull! Would highly recommend him. :)

I was pretty pleased with my experience with Lisa. She came in initially to help only with my home office, as I was preparing to increase my side business and was going to need to use it as an actual Office space, rather than storage. She in fact helped me with office, kitchen, closets and more. She came up with good re-purposing ideas for most of my existing pieces, and everything that I was holding onto that in fact didn't need to keep, was donated to the woman's shelter in DTLA (which she loaded up her own car with to drop off, and sent me the receipt for tax uses), Goodwill or donated to friends and co-workers (all good stuff, btu I just didn't need it all). She also was clever with how to organize items in groups and used my covered staircase (which I don't use) as a storage solution and put items like camping chairs up on the side walls to free up closet space in the main part of the house. She helped me declutter and rid myself of items that weren't practical anymore. We didn't do every single thing she suggested, as there's a need for compromise on some of the ideas, but I was overall very happy with how she helped me to better my home and items. She's got a tough attitude at times, but that's part of her job. She is there to help declutter your life... so take what she says as constructive, she's doing her job to help. Might be a bit tough to hear at the time, but she does a good job of lessening the CRAP most of us have. Haha! She is fun to talk with and comes up with plans for what you need and need to do once she's finished with the job and has goals set for what you can do on your own once she's gone, which helped me to keep on track and finish at the pace that I was comfortable with, like putting up added shelving in closets (which I needed help from my bf with), getting a more practical trash bin and more.

American Castles Mike To the RESCUE!!! The water heater at my rental property burst on a Friday afternoon causing some major damage to the house. The renters were furious because their items got damaged and the house wasn't inhabitable after that. On the inside, the bathroom wall and under stairway closet were all soaking wet and drywall/carpet/padding had to be removed immediately to prevent mole build up. On the garage side where the water heater located, the entire wall was destroyed. so I called my home insurance who provided me with their preferred plumber who quoted an additional $540 out of pocket on top of what the insurance was going to cover just so he can bring up the water heater installation to code! He told me that it will take him 1+ week to order the water heater (duh...get one from Home Depot take only 1hr...which is what Mike did) and that he can install a temporary water heater and will charge $137/wk! He also referred me to a water damage restoration company which I was not too happy with either. Since it was an emergency and I went with that company. They came in and ripped out all the wet drywall without caring for any molding; especially for garage doors and closet doors! It seemed like what ever the water heater didn't damage, they did. They also broke my water heater intake shut off valve. damage the water heater over flow copper pipe. All I can say is I will not use them again! Back to the plumber, something was smelling fishy about his quote and so I called and questioned this plumber. His response was "Well, I will need to flush out the gas line and calibrate your water pressure...upgrade to the new California safety quote...put in earthquake straps...install new vent line since the new water heater nowaday don't use the old vent line!". I was not convinces so I started to Google for good local contractor and AMERICAN CASTLES (Mike Tay is the owner) came up from Thumtack along with few others from other websites. I contacted them and they came in and provided me quotes. Mike was the last one I contacted. He arrived within 30min. He checked out the damages and explained to me what needs to get done sequentially to get everything back in proper operation for my tenants. Mike is very knowledgeable and very patient in explaining things. I told him what the plumber had said, he laughed and told me the whole thing was a rip off and a scam! Another crock of bull**** and advised me against it. He told me to call my insurance company to inquire about using other plumber. Sure enough I was offered the "cash out" option which I didn't even know was available. I took that option and went with Mike for the repair. Mike knows how important it is for my tenants to get the hot water running again once the water damage restoration company completed the clean up/dry out the area (took 1 week). As soon as that company removed their equipment, Mike had his crew come in the next day (Saturday) to repair the garage dry wall and finished the installation of the new water heater and brought it up to code on safety on Sunday! He even added the water pan and installed drain pipe for me. I didn't even know such a thing exists (talk about quality...he treats it like repairing his own home!). The best part is his charge for the whole job including new water heater, earthquake straps, valve, drain pan, vent and new connection is far way less than what that plumber was going to charge me. I loved the fact he took the time to show me how things should be done up to code and what works for my situation instead of just giving a price and walking away. He did an awesome job! Unfortunately my landlord insurance's deductible was so high, I asked Mike to give me a quote for fixing the damage in the garage and inside the house. Mike's quote was very competitive and the best part is he is always willing to work with me knowing my situation (thx Mike). My bathroom paint is 16 years old so it was a challenge to match the paint for the new wall. After only quoting me for painting a small wall inside the bathroom, Mike decided on his own to paint the entire bathroom without charging for it. Now that what I call TAKING PRIDE IN YOUR WORK AND STICKING TO YOUR WORD!!! My summary is, Mike successfully completed the entire job and installation in four days. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone and will definitely be using and referring him to everyone I know.

If you're looking for someone with integrity and professionalism look no further than Jose Benitez. Jose's price to hang closet doors in my master bedroom was more than reasonable. He showed up on time and communicated what he was doing with us the whole way. I would highly recommend Jose and will definitely be using him again in the future. Don't bother with anyone else, you won't find anyone more professional with reasonable prices than Jose Benitez. Thank you again for the great job you did.

Wow George gave me a great quote for shaving 7 closet doors and putting them on track and to replace a toilet. The day scheduled to do the work, he managed to fix my refrigerator lines and repair a drawer as well as the closet doors and replacinh the toilet. He had to go look for some parts at a couple of stores and got the job done. We're very happy with his service. We will definitely call him again.

I got some shelves from Ikea and needed to have them installed inside my closet - Ricky did an amazing job, showed up early and quickly figured out what needs to be done to get the shelves installed effectively. He is fast, effective with very reasonable pricing ( compared to other quotes I have received for the same job) I am super happy with his work and will not hesitate to call him again if other work needs done at home. Thanks Ricky!

I really enjoyed working with Chrissy. I need to call her my fairy Godmother because she came into my life and transformed my very cluttered garage and laundry room. She helped me de-clutter 7 years worth of stuff and organized a garage sale. Because of Chrissy’s incredible organizational skills and her attention to detail I had a very successful garage sale. She also helped organize my linen closet and food pantry. She was very educational and taught me systems so that I can do it myself on other projects . I’m a working mom so all the time saving tips she gave me has really helped me not feel so overwhelmed and stressed out. I actually know where everything is now! That’s amazing! I will be hiring her again in the future to tackle other areas of my home.

We used Power Custom Builders to do a remodel on our master bedroom that included expanding the size of both the bedroom and the bathroom, adding a second closet and matching existing hardwood floors. The work was excellent quality. Jose was always responsive to any questions we had. His work crew was always on time and cleaned up daily. We love our completed master suite and will use Power Custom Builders for any projects we have in the future.
