Contacted Clean Slate for demo work on my tile floors. They responded quickly and answered any questions I had. They had an opening and I was able to book them for next day. Four person crew showed up promptly next morning ready to work. This crew was extremely friendly and professional. They moved all my furniture, covered everything in plastic, and taped off individual rooms while working to minimize dust from the demolition. They were able to demo the entire first floor, two bathrooms upstairs, and a laundry room in no time at all. They finished entire job that day, cleaned everything up and put my furniture back. After dealing with some less than professional contractors recently I was hesitant to hire another crew to do work in my house but these guys are top notch. The team at Clean Slate did an amazing job cleaning out my backyard! We had a ton of construction junk left by our old contractor and the garden had become overgrown with weeds. They were pleasant and professional and worked with me to find a price to remove more junk than I asked them to quote originally. Can I give more than 5 stars? These guys help with everything, and as a family team, they were so helpful, punctual, kind, and efficient with their task today. My job was a very small one, but being physically unable to do any of the garbage/junk removal myself, and having just had a severe back injury, Jen and her team of 3 came to the rescue! Very kind to work with, local to the area, and effective with their work! Highly recommended. PS: they do just about everything and anything you need done around the home so don’t hesitate to reach out for tiny household tasks (like putting some small frames up on walls, like me!) or much larger demolition work. They cancelled out on us, not once, but twice. Based on emails and pricing we hired them to remove "stuff" from my mother's house. We flew in from Minnesota and spent the better part of two days getting things organized. They were suppose to arrive at noon. At 2PM they called and said they couldn't make it: trailer problems. They were in Perris CA on a job and how they planned to do a job there, dump the load, and get to Inglewood by noon is beyond me. That being said they apologized, offered a reduced price and so we set up for the next day at 10AM. At 10:45AM an email came in "unexpected emergency" can't do your job; left us high and dry. I called hoping to set something up for the next day, or at least for a name of another contractor, but they never returned the call. So there we were with a garage full of stuff, a back porch filled with stuff, and piles of stuff in the back yard trying to find another contractor. We found one but he was unavailable until the following week. My wife and I had no choice but to return to MN, so my brother is solo when the new contractor shows up. Two things are really upsetting. First, they made no effort to help our situation (reschedule, another contractor, etc.). Second, my brother had scheduled a dumpster originally, which was cancelled after I found Clean Slate, so I was personally very embarrassed in front of family. This person never scheduled with us. They tried to hire us last minute and we couldn't accommodate so they left a bad review. Once hired on Thumbtack a customer has the right to leave any review they want so we got stuck with this one. Type your response to this review.
