This is my first time working with Gaby. I was taking a risk as the cake I ordered was for a dinner party for 12 adult, half of whom are amazing home chefs and two are professionally trained chefs. A friend got a job at Google and so, to surprise him, I ordered this cake (pics) for the party. Gaby was easy AND pleasant to communicate with. She made me a coconut pineapple flavored cake with rainbow layered inside to match the google colors. The crowd, 12 adults and 11 kids went crazy with how beautiful the cake was. Lots and lots of photos later, we finally got to taste it and suddenly the room got quiet. everyone kept shaking their heads with their eyes closed. The cake was so delicious, there was no sound for like 30 seconds. Gaby, I will be hiring you again and again. My friends asked for your contact info. Thank you for such an amazing cake that more than pleased my chef friends and the kids!

Jacquie is great! She helped me with cooking and hosting an amazing birthday BBQ, with highlights such as grilled corns, bacon wrapped hot dogs and amazing salads. She knows exactly what she is doing and has a very much non-bullit style at work, which I really appreciate. Thank you Thumbtack for finding me such a great chef!

Chef Alejandra recently catered a wine tasting for 40 people for us in SF. Under less than ideal conditions (crowded room, minimal equipment and high guest expectations) she delivered wave after wave of delicious and perfectly paired food. She was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish, and I would recommend her and her team without hesitation. Excellent value!

Teresa did a wonderful job making Uno (as in the card game) themed cookies for my son's birthday party-they were exactly what I was looking for and more!!     Mostly whole foods. We eat lots of fresh veggies, salad, legumes, tofu/tempeh/seitan. Processed foods like daiya, tofutti, tofurkey, and refined flours are ok sometimes as long as they're not a staple. We like lots of spices and flavor, are not opposed to using oil and sugar...most prepared American vegan food is boring and bland and so we want to avoid that. We eat a lot of world cuisine--curries, stir fry, Latin American foods, stews. Healthy casseroles are also great. Ideally someone would come once a week and make a few meals with leftovers to last the week. Meal delivery or in-home cooking is great. Pre-cooked or pre-assembled meals we cook in the oven are great. Since vegan food is still not that popular, as an example of what we like,most of our own cooking is from books by Isa Moskowitz. Our budget is about $300/week, including groceries.
