"Music has been something I treasure since picking up saxophone while in middle school. Since this time, I have acquired years of saxophone and guitar experience with a variety of teachers. In addition to my years of experience in these instruments I have training in Piano (Which I give beginning lessons in). I have been influenced and enjoy a number of different genres such as Jazz, Blues, Classical, Rock, etc. Some of my guitar heroes include Stevie Ray Vaughn, Yngwie Malmsteen, Django Reinhardt, John Mayer, etc. These artists have given me an appreciation for genres I originally had no interest in. Just recently I have come under the umbrella of C'est La Vie Arts, a music school dedicated to shaping musicians through voice and piano lessons. As a guitar teacher under C'est La Vie Arts, I am able to teach and play a variety of genres and styles. As a guitar teacher, I am student oriented and interested in helping all students achieve their goals and if a student does not have goals we can work to find goals to achieve and challenge. It is in our lessons that we will explore the students interests and how we can best work toward those interests. I enjoy making and sharing music with those around me and teaching guitar achieves this goal by empowering others with the skills to make music. In an era where the fine arts programs are disappearing for a variety of reasons, I am convinced as an appreciator of the fine arts I should do my part to share and keep the arts alive so they will be enjoyed for many years to come. It is this enjoyment and joy that is brought to others that fuels me as a guitar teacher."

"I began studying piano when I was seven years old and studied in Washington, DC until I graduated from high school. That year I also received the high school diploma from the National Guild of Piano Teachers. To receive that diploma, I had to perform a ten piece memorized program each year before a jury of piano teachers who were members of the Guild, and I was graded on my performance. It was a very demanding assignment each year, but well worth the effort. On the college level, I studied at Wheaton Conservatory, Wheaton, Illinois, and later at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. I taught lessons in Winona Lake, and Wheaton while living in those towns. Over the years, I have had many opportunities to perform as well as being involved with church music at various churches and youth groups. For the past 9 years, I taught piano in the San Luis Obispo area. I have recently moved to Fresno and now available to dedicate more time and energy to teaching here. I believe that I have much to offer as a piano teacher. I enjoy working with all ages and have been told by my students that I have the gift of patience. I have taught classical to popular music but will focus on your own personal needs and goals as I recommend music for you. I also love teaching music theory and always teach the basics to every student. I not only believe that I have the expertise to teach but also feel that I have many life experiences which have taught me compassion and love for people along with a desire to help others grow on their life journey. My home is open for lessons, but I will also drive to you."
