Thanks Eric our SAT tutor was great!
I must say I am extremely happy with the quality of service from Arbor Tutors from the first phone call through the tutoring sessions. We were given our choice between a couple of different tutors. High quality.
I spent several months working with Grace through some intermediate mandarin. Really great tutor. She will also text you outside of the tutoring to keep you engaged and make sure you are doing your homework!
Kathleen has made a tremendous difference in our son's Spanish skills. He's had a difficult teacher in school this year and Kathleen has helped to build this knowledge, understanding and confidence with both written and verbal work. Our son has said that Kathleen has been a tremendous help to him. She is reliable and I've felt she genuinely wants her students to succeed.
Lillian has been tutoring my daughter in Mandarin, both speaking and writing for about six months through weekly 1 hour sessions at our home. Lillian has an upbeat and warm personality and is passionate about teaching. I am impressed at how she mixes up the lesson so that my fidgety 7 year old remains engaged the entire time. She uses a variety of print, audio and video materials. She focuses on proper technique in speaking and writing while always remaining positive and encouraging. We are so lucky to have found Lillian, and my daughter's interest in learning Mandarin has only grown!
Tim was a great teacher for me! He was easy to talk to,understood my questions, and helped me improve my weak points. After working with him for a few months, I was able to understand a lot of the material provided in the SAT test and improve a lot on my practice test. Overall, Tim is a great teacher for learning how to improve your English , especially to prepare for SAT test.
Yevgeny helped me with business calculus class. This class was extremely important for me to pass as most 4 year colleges I was trying to get into wanted me to take it. During the 16 week semester, Yevgeny would come twice a week to help me with my homework and go over each chapter in depth. We would spend almost two hours each session on different problems and he would show me how to do each one. However, he doesn't do each problem for you but instead would have me do the problem on my own and give me help if I needed it. He made sure I understood each chapter we would go over before going onto the next. Yevgeny is a great person who really cares about the success of those he is tutoring. He understands many different math courses and is really smart. Without his help I wouldn't have passed my class and gone on to transfer to my 4 year college. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of help in any math course.
Angela does the best job of explaining concepts for AP/SAT if you are trying to learn something outside of school. We did our tutoring over the computer, but I actually found it more engaging than in person. For example, I was confused about cos (180degrees), because I hadn't learned about it in school yet. Angela's explanation also made 10x more sense than what my math teacher would say. Now I FINALLY understand how to find cos (180degrees)!
I am amazed as to the quality of tutoring I received from Arbor Tutors given the low price. The tutor my daughter had was very sweet and very patient with geometry. You can't ask for a better tutor than the one we got. We chose to do the online tutoring. Five stars all the way.
Neal was an amazing tutor. I had a 72% in my summer school stats class at week 3 when I enlisted his help. He worked around my crazy schedule and even came to my house. With his help both from tutoring and with his guidance for my final project, I was able to finish the class with an 89.14% at week 6. My teacher even emailed me to tell me he was impressed with my hard work and rounded my grade up to an A! Neal is a humorous guy, so he made my statistics tutoring both fun and informative which I really appreciated during a very stressful class. I would absolutely recommend Neal as a tutor! Perhaps my only "negative" comment would be that he is ridiculously smart and at times I had a hard time following along with his explanations. But for the most part, he "dumbed" down the confusing material and really helped me bring up my C to an A. Thanks Neal!!!!!!
Ron has been providing excellent tutoring for AP Calculus BC.
Leo is an amazing tutor. He understood very well on the sections I needed help on. You will feel confident with his tutoring. He is one highly recommended tutor!

My name is Nicholas Chew, and I am currently a rising senior at Saint Francis High School. I have loved learning since a young age and would love to share my passion for learning to prospective students. I am also very extroverted and energetic, so I will have no problem befriending and having fun with the students while also making sure to efficiently teach them critical thinking, organization, and communication skills. I have also tutored many subjects on behalf of my school's California Scholarship Federation - Tutoring Club for over 35 hours and have a 3-year experience as head coach of a middle school basketball team, so I understand how to motivate others. I received a 3.9 high school GPA from Bellarmine College Preparatory, and scored a 2200 on the SAT, with an 800 in Writing, 650 in Math, and 750 in Verbal. I graduated with a 3.6 college GPA from the University of Southern California. At USC, I majored in Neuroscience and minored in Spanish. I combine deep academic knowledge with strong tutoring skills. I believe that there is no such thing as a person who is "not good" at something. Everyone can improve with practice and feedback, and that is what I'm here to provide.
My name is Cameron Anetsky. What sets me aside from other tutors is that my priority is the student, their family, and their needs. I tailor my tutoring to each and every student. My teaching has a basis in the Saxon Method of teaching, but it is more than that. I teach not only the subject matter, but the tips, note taking, organization, and study skills that make each student uniquely successful. I am well versed in teaching most subjects, with special emphasis on Reading and Writing, Social Studies, Foreign Language, Math, and Science. I effectively teach skills that can be used later in their academic and professional careers: reading for retention, note taking, analytical skills, scientific analysis, nursing and patient care, and writing.
I'm a dual Ph.D./MA graduate in the joint degree program in comparative literature and humanities from Stanford University. I received my other M.A. in Humanistic Studies and B.A. in Psychological and Brain Sciences, English (with honors), and Spanish (with honors) with minors in mathematics, women, gender and sexuality; and Latin-American studies from the Johns Hopkins University in 2008. I have an extensive teaching experience in the Stanford community and beyond. On campus, I taught a freshman writing course through the program in writing and rhetoric as well as upper-level Spanish literature seminars. Throughout the Bay Area, I also teach study skills curriculum, working with K-8 students in all subjects and tutoring high school students in English, history, Spanish, economics, physics, biology, chemistry, statistics, and all levels of mathematics and counsel students in college admissions. I specialize in standardized test preparation and SAT instruction. I have tutored students from a variety of backgrounds, from elementary school to the collegiate level, including students with eating disorders and also with learning disabilities, and I have significant experience counseling and advising students throughout the Bay Area on college admissions and preparation.
