Shannon has a rare gift as a counselor as she is able to combine good practical advice with an empathic, sensitive presence. She combines a scientific and intuitive approach in her work. Her use of metrics to provide demonstrable results provides an experimental and empirical grounding to counseling that is rarely found in the field. She has a knowledge of the lifestyle factors that lead to anxiety and depression such as diet and sleep as well as the ability to use techniques such as Internal Family Systems to work with parts of the psyche. I chose to work with Shannon at a difficult time in my life because I felt that her compassion combined with her intuitive skills would be able to help me and help me quickly. I am a therapist myself and I am very choosy in who I work with. I have also referred people to Shannon for that reason. I would definitely recommend her services.
Dr. Abrams is a tremendously compassionate, experienced, and effective therapist. I knew I was in good hands from our first session, and am living the benefits of our work together each and every day.
Andri supported me during a very difficult time in my life while I was going through divorce and major career change. We had sessions over the course of a year. During that time she helped me: - emotionally go through the divorce and release guilt, shame, anger and lots of other emotoins that were blocking my mind and ability to feel joy - see that I had the right to dream a better life for me and my 2 boys and I was not "crazy" for asking more from life - understand the human basic needs which go so much beyond human survival. This brought peace in me and my relationship with my boys. The most important part was that I understood their need for love and certainty and how I can provide that to them even though I see them a few days per month - make better decisions for my company. I used to take most things emotionally and sometimes my decisions were not serving everyone. Now I use emotions and instincts to set a path, and use logic to decide on the steps. I now experience less stress and make less "mistakes" - understand why I need to value myself first and how this allows me to be strong for others I can go and on. In a nutshell, she helped me shift my perspective about dreams and passions and what is possible to achieve in life. Nothing can really hold you back. It is about the clarity you have and the decisions you make.

Kavita is my therapist, and I am so lucky that I found her because my life is transforming in ways I never could have imagined. I found her through a series of unexpected events. Long story short, I ran into an old friend, joined him for dinner with another friend of his, and his friend recommended Kavita based on something I said in passing. I'm so glad. I hate to think about where I would be now if I hadn't found her. I've seen therapists before, but it wasn't the same. I think that's because Kavita does way more than "talk therapy," and I feel like that's magically changing my brain. She also made a referral to a great couples therapist for my partner and I. All in all, life is looking so much better than it ever has before. If you're looking for a really intelligent, compassionate, and creative therapist who will help you change your life, reach out to Kavita.

“What one person has to offer to another, is their own being, nothing more, nothing less” – Ram Dass. My therapeutic approach is a strength-based perspective that focuses on a person’s innate potential rather than pathologies and shortfalls. Consistent with this approach, my role as a therapist lies not in solving problems but in helping clients examine inhibited issues and biases, identify practical solutions to their problems and progress towards deeper wisdom.
I have over 20 years experience working with families and children in various capacities. Supporting your family is my top priority, while teaching coping skills and communication skills. I strive to help each person find their strengths and become their authentic self. No family is perfect. Each family has unique strengths and weaknesses just as each individual does. When life stresses bring anxiety, depression, anger management issues, suicidality or trigger a mental health event our families are affected. Many times we are unable to find resources and support that we need. We are in need of a non-judgmental relationship to discuss our needs, issues and find support. This is where family therapy can help. I will look forward to getting to know you and your family.

Deciding on the right therapist is as critical as selecting the right physician to deal with your health. Others have chosen me as their couples therapist because I have the following: * Passion: My passion for supporting healthy relationships has led me to dedicate my practice to working with couples. You will not find a therapist who is more motivated to helping you and your partner. * Specialized couples training: I have undergone specialized couples training as part of my doctorate of clinical psychology ((PsyD) and master's in counseling psychology (MA). I am licensed as a marriage and family therapist (LMFT). * Powerful couples tools: I offer an array of powerful tools and exercises that are designed just for couples. These exercises help you improve communication, manage your anger, learn your love language, solve problems, become more effective parents, build trust, discover strengths, increase intimacy, and experience forgiveness. * Experience with the toughest issues: I create a safe healing environment to deal with extremely challenging situations such as a devastating affair, uncontrolled anger, sexual wounding, verbal or physical abuse, harsh co-parenting conflicts, high-intensity arguments, a painful divorce, and even the loss of a child. * Evidence-based practices: I use scientifically validated psychotherapy techniques for couples, which have been proven effective through 35 years of research with thousands of couples. * Biblically based foundation: I am affiliated with the Christian Counseling Center-San Jose. My therapeutic approach is consistent with and rooted in biblical principles; however, bringing your faith into therapy is completely your choice. My aim is to serve you as a trustworthy resource for professional care, whether you have a faith background or not. * Three decades of life experience: having been married for 30 years, my work with you is built upon decades of real-life experience, not just textbook knowledge. Working with a couples specialist gives you the best chance to heal your relationship, so you can feel safer, more trusted and more loved.
I release points of physical, energetic, spiritual or psychological contraction with gentle hands-on techniques and working intuitively both in person and at a distance. These contractions often manifest in physical misalignment or dis-ease and recurring life difficulties. Their release can produce life changing effects.
