I could not give a higher recommendation to Vahan! Here's my story:
My computer was freezing and crashing, and I was informed (by Geek Squad) that my hard drive had "failed". Not good words to hear. In my frantic state of trying to figure out what I was going to do to recover my data, I found a data recovery service on Thumbtack. Tons of great reviews. So I sent my job request. When I did that, Thumbtack suggested that I send the request to the other three pros in my area. Sure, why not? Well, Vahan of Five Star Data Recovery responded IMMEDIATELY!! It was pretty late in the evening - maybe 9:30 or 10. I was shocked to hear back, and in that first bit of communication, before I'd even indicated if I would hire him or not, he spent time understanding the details of my situation and calming me down (I was pretty stressed, and it was evident), advising me on the best way to not make things worse and was generally calming and caring. Because of him, I was able to sleep that night.
The next day, we spoke some more, and he patiently answered my unending stream of questions - the What Ifs, security concerns, etc. In the meantime, I checked my Thumbtack account to see if I had any more responses to my post. Nope.
All I can say is that finding Vahan on Thumbtack was such a blessing. He made arrangements to meet me outside of normal business hours (due to the hours of my own job), he worked on my computer right away, and informed me within hours of the good news - he was able to recover 99.9% of my data! He shipped my external hard drive back to me, and I had it, and all my data, the next day. Five Star is aptly named - you deserve Five Stars! Thank you, Vahan!
By the way, to this day, I've never heard from any of the other Pros that I had reached out to.

Best data recovery company I've been too. This was the third drive I've had fail on me. All the other times, I used another company who charged me almost 4 times as much as Platinum Plus Services in Glendale.
Vahan diagnosed the drive for me the same day and let me know that he will be able to recover the data. The next morning I received an email with a file that showed everything he recovered.

Vahan is THE BEST!!! If you are in the Los Angeles area or even other cities in California, he is definitely the one to go to when it comes to data recovery. He is very professional and genuine. Unlike others, he doesn't haggle you with pricing. Based upon the information you input via Thumbtack, it is what it is. No hourly charges or additional expedite service charges. I've received quote anywhere between $500-$1200 for my issue. I'm so glad I found him here! Thank you!

My Western Digital My Passport had failed on me with all of my business files. Vahan replied to my quote request within minutes. He quoted me $400.00 flat rate to recover all of the files from my drive and that was exactly what I paid when I went in to pickup my recovered data. He was very courteous, professional and most importantly there was no haggling about the price. I hope I never have this happen to me again, but if it did, I know I would be back here for sure.
