Ben is a solid guitar teacher. I've been getting lessons from him for about 10 months and my guitar playing is noticeably better. I recommend starting out with one of his 4 packs to give him the chance to gauge your skill level and to cater to your needs. He has plenty of material for generic lessons if you don't have any questions, but he really excels at identifying any problems you may be experiencing and also tips and tricks to fix them. I can't recommend him enough. Give him a shot and you won't be disappointed.

Recently started lessons with Ben. I have been playing for quite some time, on and off for several decades, a few different styles. I find it hard to stay focused and centered on one thing at a time and Ben helps wrangle that tendency into focused sessions with all the resources I need to practice efficiently and effectively. In other words, he keeps me honest. He is very patient and personable while being professional at the same time, at times teacher and at times mentor. I have found, much to my surprise, that I have already improved in the areas we are focusing on, and I am delighted. Ben has a very studied music background, and his natural passion and enthusiasm is evident. His encouragement keeps me going during my moments of frustration and doubt.

Ben has been an incredible teacher. I have played guitar for 20 years and felt like I hadn't improved for the last 10. Ben has been able to help me learn new techniques for practicing, learning songs and improving in ways that I never thought I could have learned. He has been crucial to me learning the skills to work through songs I've always wanted to learn but never known how to do it. Some of my favorite things I've learned from him are Theory - Scales and modes. I've always wanted to learn how to improv solo in ways beyond the pentatonic scale. I'm not there yet, but I'm miles ahead of where I was before I started lessons from Ben. Songs - Cliffs of Dover - Eric Johnson Snowblood - Erra Overture 1928 - Dream Theater Behold the Crown - After the Burial Glasgow Kiss - John Petrucci Practicing - Finger Exercises. Sweep picking is something I've never been able to pick up as cleanly as I've wanted. He's been crucial in helping me get the technique dialed in and begin doing it right.

Ben is an excellent guitar instructor. He has tons of knowledge and is very patient and tailors the lessons according to the student's needs. I have been taking classes with Ben for close to two months now. I am seeing some significant improvements in my playing and I feel more confident in taking on challenging pieces of music. I would totally put my money on Ben. Calm and nice guy too!!

I have been working with Ben for about a month now and I'm so thankful I found him as a teacher! I have been playing guitar casually and sometimes in bands for a long time but have been stuck in a plateau for the last ten years or so. Within the first lesson, he answered many of my very specific technique questions and we plotted out my guitar goals. Ben is amazing at figuring out your needs as a player while also integrating ways to make the process really enjoyable. In my time with Ben so far, I've already improved at my instrument and have changed my approach to practicing. I hadn't taken formal music lessons for many years, but I am now much less daunted by the progress I hope to make. He is an incredibly inspiring guitarist, patient, and his discipline is enviable. I'm very much looking forward to continuing lessons and I've already recommended him to several of my friends! If you're considering Ben as your teacher, you should really pull the trigger and contact him. I guarantee he will exceed your expectations.

In our first lesson, I will evaluate where you are at as a guitarist and make a customized lesson plan for you based on your level, goals, and stylistic preferences.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music. I've also been a professional touring musician for over 17 years. I currently play guitar for international-touring Video Game Metal band Powerglove, as well as national-touring Progressive Metal band Lattermath.
