I started with DV counseling.
My original perception of such court mandated classes was that it would be a waste of time, but it was quite the contrary. Jimmy explained the concepts in a manner that was relevant to myself and others in the class. I learned to see things differently and to be more open minded. I never sensed any condescending tone, and we received good info and tips that we could use immediately.
After graduating, I wanted to do couples therapy. Unfortunately, my partner did not, so I did individual counseling. I learned a lot about myself and how to deal with codependency, forgiveness, trust, relationships, children, God, addiction.
What i really appreciate of Jimmy is that he can he can get on your level, scientific research data, psychological, medical, religious, biblical, whatever. He helped me to understand and see what decisions I could take and why, how to prioritize my time, and sometimes homework that would be of great value.
Things didn't work out with my ex wife, but my kids and I are thriving. I have full custody of them. I occasionally visit Jimmy for a "check up/ tune up" whenever time permits.
I wish I would have gone to him sooner. We all need help. They are good and reliable. It's worth it.
