Since Hooking up with Blyss (Ted) my playing has come on in leaps and bounds. He was very quick to work out what areas need attention and apply some excercises to help these. ALL of the stuff we have been through so far is extreamly practical and easy to apply to my playing. Since Starting lessons with Blyss alot of people have commented how I have improved. I have also noticed it myself. My confidence has also increased heaps since having lessons. I have tried other teachers in the area where I live but none of them compare. I have found him to be very accommodating in finding a time for our Skype lessons (I live on the other side of the world so there are time issues). I could not recommed Blyss highly enough!!

I have heard Ted play for a few years now, and I wanted take my playing to the next level. Ted was an obvious choice to help me accomplish that. He was on time, set up and ready to go. Before the lesson we had talked about where to start, and that is exactly what he was prepared to teach. He's thorough, patient, and able to explain concepts in ways I could understand.

About this pro

I create custom curricula for each student designed around his or her short and long term goals. I teach processes and concepts. Instead of saying "Here's how this goes" I teach "Here's how we arrive at a process". This way the student becomes better at learning material on their own. My job is to prepare every student to be able to at some point take my job away from me. Seeing students overcome obstacles. I am always reminded of those discouraging moments and how it felt to overcome.

    Q & A

    • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I believe that there are good players and good teachers. Rarely are they the same person. I think that parents and adult students should choose an instructor based on both of these areas. A good instructor will teach concepts that will allow the student to find their own voice on the instrument and function as an integral part of the ensemble.
