I have worked with students of all ages and levels. From 3 to 70 and from beginners to advance.
Cadence Piano Studio
Introduction: I provide both in-home private piano lessons for your convenience and comfort, or you may take lessons at my studio located in Huntington Beach, CA.
Each students will have their own individualized lesson plan where technique, theory, ear-training, and sight-reading will be taught.
I received a diploma from the National Guild of Piano Teachers, a division of American College of Musicians, and graduated in the top 1%. I am a classically trained piano teacher, but I can teach in all genres of music. I also teach all ages groups, as well as students of all skill levels.
I try to make the experience of the lessons as enjoyable and fun as possible, while still providing the student with what they need to learn. I do expect each student to practice, so there is progression. Nothing motivates a student more than when they can see themselves playing a song that they never thought they could play.

I've always wanted to learn piano, and recently started taking lessons with Sylvia as an older adult. Sylvia has all the qualities of a great teacher: patience, encouragement, and praise, but at the same time doesn't let bad technique slide. She keeps me on track, motivating me to always strive and improve. Also like the fact that she shows up on time, and does make up lessons to accommodate my travel schedule. K.P. H.B.

signing up for lessons through cadence piano studio was a great decision! My instructor Sylvia was not only a great teacher, she plays like a real professional! she is great with kids as well as adults who have always wanted to learn how to play the piano just like me! I will definitely be recommending Sylvia to all my friends and family!

My last piano lesson was over 15 years ago! My teacher was great but she stuck to classical. I told her I wanted something more "fun" but Ragtime was not quite what I had in mind.
I thought of taking lessons again for years and finally took action a few months ago. I was so nervous because I have forgotten everything! Sylvia is very patience, fun and knowledgably. She has a great personality and I feel very at ease taking lessons from her.
So far, my lessons have been refreshers and I have been able to pick things up quickly - mainly because she is that great of a teacher.
I look forward to my lessons and I cannot wait to get to the point where I can play something simple like a Yanni piece perfectly.
