I highly recommend Megan for anyone looking to improve their fitness. Megan's personal training had a major impact in my life. I took yoga lessons for her for 6 months. Through her instruction I was able to balance my mind, body and soul. I also literally improved my balance skills which helps out on my favorite activity...downhill longboarding. Megan is extremely dedicated to and knowledgeable about personal training and fitness.
Allison is the best! I have been taking yoga classes on and off for a few years and never really saw a difference in my flexibility or mental clarity. Once I started with Allison, that all changed. She was able to customize a routine for me and guide me in a positive, knowledgable way. I now feel more flexible (stronger too!) and enjoy the peaceful feeling at the end of our session. Would definitely recommend!
Johanna has helped me throughout my weight loss journey. I've had the pleasure of doing one-on-one training sessions, group training sessions, zumba, and yoga with Johanna. She's been nothing but amazing in each experience. I've been working with Johanna since December, and what I absolutely love is that from the moment I met her, she has been nothing but passionate and determined to help me reach my weight loss goals. Her determination has kept me motivated to stay on track, and even push myself when I feel I can no longer continue. Like she says "I can't doesn't exist in my dictionary!" :) I'm not a morning person, but our early morning workouts are definitely something I look forward to! Since December i've lost about 50lbs, but the best change of all is that I feel healthier and happier with myself. Thank you Johanna for helping me with my transformation, and I am looking forward to even more positive changes to come, with your help! I highly recommend Johanna to anyone who wants a trainer that is knowledeable, passionate, professional, and flexible to work around your needs.
Marjorie is, hands-down, the best "teacher" I've ever had. The reality is that to call her "teacher" wouldn't be enough. I came across Marjorie six years ago, when her class was recommended to me by another instructor, and I attended her class at then-Vira Yoga in NYC. I was blown away by everything about Marjorie: her knowledge of the whole body and of practicing yoga safely is above and beyond anyone I've ever met. I am a former soccer player with a history of chronic pain, and always shied away from regular yoga. Marjorie became my weekly ritual-I begin attending her Sunday 4 PM class at World Yoga Center whenever I could, and even sometimes went during lunch to her weekday classes. The modifications that she teaches are unlike any instructor I've ever met. She gently helps you find a way to be in every pose, commands the class with great warmth while also offering to help each student and pay attention to their alignment, and is available for consultation outside of class. She also is not like some yoga teachers, who move through the poses quickly and aren't sensitive to potential injury points. Marjorie is extremely experienced and teaches with safety first. she also incorporates sage wisdom, mindfulness, and recommendations for self-care and homeopathic remedies regularly. And she's funny! Also, she's a native New Yorker, I also found her observations very pertinent and real (for example, many New Yorkers spend time at a desk sitting in a chair, and are surrounded by lots of noise and high energy levels generally - she methodically walks you through how to adjust to each of those norms). I suspect that wherever Marjorie lives and teaches, she is fully engrossed in the patterns and habits of that location. This ability of hers to be "tuned in" and genuine goes a long way in the way she teaches her class. I was delighted to also learn that Marjorie could be a confidant and crucial consult for other health problems in my life. She will always defer to doctors and experts, but Marjorie pointed me towards a rehabilitation specialist and I have been working with for two years, who has also changed my life. Not to mention that several health and mindfulness-related books on my bookshelf are there as a result of Marjorie's recommendation. And most recently, at Marjorie's urging, I completed her reset and re-new course, which helped me to reset my eating habits and tackle my inflammation, and, as she says, "live better in my body" through diet and wellness routines. I am happy to say that I have lost 20 pounds in my inflammation is greatly reduced. And, the whole time I've known her, I've known that she is always available when I may be in crisis with my health. When Marjorie left New York City, a regular of part of my routine did go away. But, Marjorie makes herself available for private sessions via Zoom, and will regularly consult over email. She is an incredible practitioner and anyone lucky enough to should reap the benefits of her wisdom. There are 1 million instructors out there, but they're truly only has one Marjorie. Plus, her dog is adorable!!!!
Matt Wood taught the first yoga class I ever took, and his welcoming personality and teaching style had me hooked instantly. He is well versed in the movement and postures of yoga, as well as the internal, more spiritual, side of yoga. I highly recommend taking lessons with Matt whether it's your first time, or you're looking to expand your practice. You won't regret it!
Amelia really did an amazing job at simply explaining the steps to a novice yoga student all the while challenging me to try new things and experience all yoga has to offer.
Very responsive in planning and led the yoga class as expected!
Torrey is a great instructor. She gives off a very calming vibe, something that I find helpful for a beginner like myself. What keeps me coming back to the Sunday meetups is the support system from both Torrey and the rest of the group - I look forward to it every weekend!
Jen led a 7 am beach yoga class for my employees during a work retreat I coordinated and it was amazing! Although the class was for beginners, the poses were still challenging and my employees enjoyed it very much. It was a great day to start the day. Jen was also kind enough to teach with very short notice.
I love working with Katie! I wanted a private yoga instructor because my body was really tight. I felt like I needed a little extra care before I went back to full yoga classes. She is able to tune into my body and help me with what I need!
Amy was just what I needed in a Yoga instructor. Calm, easy going, and relaxed. I am not big on boisterous yoga instructors and Amy brought the right level of understanding and patience to my practice.
When I came to Bliss Yoga a year ago, I could barely move my back and neck. After only a few sessions of Svaroopa yoga, the pain started lessening, and my spasms decreased from daily to about once weekly. Now, I have them rarely, and only after heavy lifting. Maria is one of the better mortals. Her kindness, tolerance, and patience surpass anything I've ever experienced. She demonstrates a profound knowledge of the myriad aspects of yoga.
Love John. You won't regret practicing with him. He is genuinely interested in your personal goals and encourages you to challenge yourself to reach them. He's an interactive and engaged instructor who demonstrates positions and modifications, adjusts students to deepen the stretch (if you want that!), and provides support and encouragement if you're trying something new. His music choices are also on point! Whether you're a true yogi or yoga is just one part of your life, you can't go wrong with Q Yoga Wellness!!!
Emily is an amazing yoga instructor. I loved her classes and learned so much.
Elena’s passion for yoga and personal training is contagious and inspirational. I always look forward to our time together and feel transformed when I leave! I’m in my mid-50s and Elena gives me hope that I can turn things around with my body. She knows the way, step by step. With joy and skill, she keeps me engaged, motivated, and challenged. And we have so much fun! Thank you, Elena, for your warm, generous heart and for sharing your gifts with me and so many others! When I think of you, I think of a goddess sent to help us reconnect with our bodies and our power.
I offer corporate yoga sessions for small and large businesses who are looking to relieve stress from work. Private yoga sessions, group yoga and prenatal yoga! I have experience working with all ages and all styles of yoga, so I’m confident I can meet your needs. I’m looking forward to guiding you through yoga practice. ❤️ My business is unique and special because I took my yoga teacher training in the yoga capital of the world, Rishikesh India. Rishikesh is a small spiritual village in India at the base of the Himalayan mountains. I studied the most authentic style and philosophy of yoga here for two months. While physical postures in yoga are very important, we must first gain control and focus over our minds. Yoga is about uniting your body and mind, which will give you ultimate concentration, peace, happiness, balance, relaxation and awareness throughout your entire being, inside and out.
I wouldn't ask Emily to change a thing. She is a professional and a joy to do yoga with :). I will definitely be using her again!
