I used Ed last year for my wedding. He was great to work with from the first time I contacted him. He answered all my questions and let me know things that he has seen and done with past weddings. He advised my wedding photographer that he will move out of the picture for our "first kiss" this is something that I would not have thought of on my own. He sent me all kinds of wedding vows and let me pick which one I wanted to use. I actually cut and pasted a few to make it more special for my husband and I. The video was an AMAZING touch! He did a great job capturing all the special moments and something that I will be able to cherish forever. I will defiantly recommend Ed to any friends/family members who need an officiant. Ed officiated our wedding in May in Folsom and was great to work with. He made sure to stay in touch with us throughout the process and answered any questions we had. We also got a video of our wedding as well as audio which was awesome. You got to hear all the guests mingling and talking before the wedding. I would recommend Ed in a heartbeat!

If you need an officiant PLEASE hire Ed. He was a complete life saver to me. My best friend passed away after a 9 year battle with breast cancer. Her sons were traveling from different directions so we had little time to arrange a memorial service. Even though Ed primarily handles weddings, he was EXACTLY what I envisioned to officiate for us. He was kind, sympathetic, cooperative, offered suggestions. He wrote opening and closing prayers I could not have written better myself. He was there early. He offered a shoulder. He mingled with us. His appearance was impeccable. He was a calm in my storm. He offered to video the ceremony which I had not thought of. I will sing his praises to anyone who will listen to me. In fact another really good friend may marry soon and I know she will hire Ed when the time comes. You will never be sorry to have chosen Ed for your function. Ed was absolutely AMAZING. Just a bit of background, for us we were looking for an African American officiant and Ed actually reached out to us via thumbtack and very professionally stated that he was interested in performing our ceremony. After striking out and even after Ed himself tried to think of any, we decided to go with Ed. The professionalism in which he reached out to us and informed us of his interest is what actually prompted us to go with Ed, the price didn't hurt him either lol, but from the moment we decided on Ed he was more than helpful and went FAR beyond the scope of an "officiant". We had a problem getting speakers for our rehearsal and Ed was gracious enough to bring his portable speaker that we could hook up our music to so that we would be able to have a proper rehearsal. He also offered, in the beginning of us working together, to video tape the event for us. At 1st we were not going to video our event, but after careful thought, we decided to do it, and it was because Ed did NOT pressure or try to up sell his services that we went with that extra service. The rehearsal and wedding went off without a hitch Ed was on time, NO he was EARLY for each event and made sure that EVERYTHING was the way WE wanted it to be. He corresponded with us via email almost everyday it seemed like, lol, to take care of any issues or thoughts we may have about the wedding, ie; our vows and when we wanted to say them, what we wanted him to include or not include in the general words to the audience. He stayed and filmed the entire wedding, he was able to get some GREAT video, only one thing wrong on the video was on my song to my wife it was focused on me singing and we would have loved to see a pan out and capture my wife as well, but even with that it was still a GREAT production. All in all this was thee GREATEST moment of my life and Ed did everything to make sure that it was from his end. Ed sir, you succeeded in making our wedding our most enjoyable life event EVER, and I will recommend you to EVERY & ANY one who tells me they are getting married. So I guess there are only 2 words that say what this post is supposed to say THANK YOU!

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I normally charge either $225 or $325. The cutoff is over 30 guests. I don't charge a travel fee. I do charge $75 to attend a rehearsal, as it prevents me from performing a wedding that day. If the Rehearsal is very close, I will normally waive that fee. I also include videotaping the couples wedding ceremony in HD (using two cameras) as a part of my package price. I make copies for the parents, and any other who may not have been able to attend. I also use a MP3 recorder to tape the audio of the ceremony, and add it to the wedding DVD if needed. I will normally e-mail the wedding audio that same evening so the couple have it to listen to on their honeymoon. I will also upload and e-mail the wedding video to them to watch on the honeymoon. I offer to mail the wedding license so it will be one less thing for them to be concerned about on their special day.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I send an e-mail introducing myself. Then I suggest a phone call to discuss their special day. I always suggest a meeting in person to make sure that the couple is comfortable with me. I send an Info Sheet to have the couple look over and fill out so we don't overlook or forget anything. I give as much assistance as they need, and I'm always available by phone or e-mail. I pride myself on answering quickly.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Not really applicable, but I do keep up on the latest trends so I can help the couples make informed decisions.
