Introduction: Welcome to Movementality LLC! My name’s Julian and I am the head strength coach and CEO. I have worked with hundreds of clients on weight loss, muscle gain, performance enhancement, and most importantly, balancing fitness with life. At my previous training position (24 Hour Fitness), I was servicing just over 100 sessions a month prior to COVID-19 and have a wide range of people I have helped improve their daily living. I specialize in balancing a training routine with your everyday life and enjoy training those who want to move/feel like an athlete! We aim to provide guidance, inspiration, and education to everyone and anyone who is willing to take on the journey of an athlete. Founded by Julian Talens in 2020, the idea of Movementality was forged from the fires of Julian’s health journey. Having struggled with being overweight, body image issues, and the underlying toxicity of the fitness industry, his undying hunger for growth was met with the growth nature found within strength and conditioning. WHY TRAIN LIKE AN ATHLETE? Mentality and structure. Every time you beat yourself up for not getting a workout in, or indulge a little bit too much in your food, that is what prevents you from getting to your fitness goals. Reaching for new heights in anything requires the right mindset and the right methods. When an athlete loses a game, they don’t sit in it and allow that loss to eat at their brain. Instead, they take the time to look at what they did wrong, how they lost, and how they can improve so that the next match results in a victory. This is where we come in. Not only do we provide you the best education in learning how to properly and safely workout, but we help you process through any mental roadblocks you may have. We focus on changing your perspective and guide you to take it to the next level.

I’ve been working with Julian for the past two months and I’m excited with my progress thus far. From the amount of weight I’ve lost, to how much stronger and more active I’ve become, and overall improvements to my quality of life, I plan on continuing to work with him even after I’ve hit my personal weight loss goals. The biggest reasons I’ve enjoyed working with Julian, especially in comparison to other trainers I’ve worked with in the past is his focus on education as well creating better and sustainable habits. This has helped me become more confident in the process, and I know that I’ll be able to better maintain this more active lifestyle. I recommend Julian to anyone looking to make healthier and sustainable changes to their lifestyle.

As a working adult and a full-time graduate student, over recent years, I have put my physical health in the back burner. This soon deteriorated my mental health as well, resulting in seemingly perennial sluggishness that haunted me every day. Sporadic work-out sessions by myself did nothing but worsen my relationship with my body. After only two months of sessions with Julian, I can confidently say that I have permanently gotten rid of the constant tiredness and stiffness I used to have - I am much more mobile and confident in my body. I love that Julian truly caters sessions to what your body needs in congruence with your lifestyle. I recommend Julian to anyone who is willing to make a long-term, positive change in their life.

My experience with Movementality came from a 1:1 virtual personal training session that I had with Julian. Julian was extremely diligent, experienced, and personable in his work. He assessed my fitness background and listened to what my goals were, judgement-free. He crafted up an 3-day workout plan assessing my fitness ability and catered there workouts to both my strengths and my weaknesses. I had a weak posture when squatting that I had no idea about for years and Julian was able to point it out at first sight! He provided me adjustments and recommendations to fix it. Overall, I felt like I was more than a client when training with Julian. He came to every session with care and enthusiasm. And just an all around fun guy & super patient and understanding !

My experience has been amazing. I have worked with a trainer from Movementality for over a year. As a man in my mid 30s, I had lost some of the strength and fitness I had when I was younger. I had also put on quite a bit of weight. My trainer and I figured out my goals and put together a program that would work for me. But it was more than that. The attention to detail and focus on the individual are amazing. And the shared passion of helping me reach my fitness goals was inspiring. It became less about a ‘program’ and more about a mentality. I’ve lost 40+ lbs of body fat and am doing things now that I doubted were possible not long ago. Working with Julian on athletic performance has been wonders. When it comes to knowledge Julian is on point always doing his research to help myself and other clients perform at there best! Hands down one of best trainers in Orange County!!
