The kids at my daughter's 5th birthday party loved it. He brought little music shakers for all the kids so they felt like they were in a band. And great music to listen to as you're eating and hanging out with friends. Thanks Tucker

Summer is an amazing theory teacher in so many ways! She's incredibly professional, patient, intuitive, and understanding and has the ability to teach to your personal learning style. Loved every minute of working with her, and it's helped advance my own understanding of music, both with guitar and singing, in a way that has allowed me to make leaps and bounds in my own songwriting as well as learning other music styles. Hire her, right this very minute!

I have been a student of Kim's for the past 4 years. I have had and am still having a wonderful experience. She is a very skilled guitar player and instructor. Her teaching studio is a comfortable and private area, and in addition she has a recording studio separate from her regular teaching studio. The recording studio is where her students get to meet and team up with other musicians and learn the process of playing together and making recordings. This experience at playing as a group with a drummer and other musicians has been invaluable training. Especially if one wishes to go professional. Kim has an extremely sound knowledge of music theory and a way of teaching that varies depending on her students. I would highly recommend Kim as a teacher for all levels of musicians that need additional skill to add to their current knowledge.

I hired Eddie to work with my High School Son to assist him with the Jazz Band. Eddie was extremely helpful, patient and adjusted his schedule for my busy teen. I would highly recommend Eddie to someone looking for an excellent tutor!

Best money we spent on our wedding! I can’t even tell you how beyond thrilled my husband and I are about the amazing job Tyler did performing at our wedding. It truly made our already special day beyond amazing! We wanted something that would get the party started right off from the ceremony to the cocktail hour. Can’t tell you how many people commented on how amazing it was to have Tyler playing saxophone. Tyler played keyboard during our ceremony. I am getting chills just thinking about it now, but the moment I heard him playing just before I walked down the aisle, the emotion of the day hit me like a wave. From our quick ceremony and onto the cocktail hour Tyler’s playing brought life to our guests and to us. Tyler was excellent at communicating both with myself, our DJ and our planner. He was so organized and thoughtful with our day! I don’t think I could thank him enough times. It was more than we could have ever imagined. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Tyler!! My son started formal drum lessons with Steve two and a half years ago. Steve set the bar on professionalism, flexibility, communication, and has the patience to teach music to younger kids. My son went from a kid banging on a toy drum, to a musician that could play drum set rhythms in an elementary school jazz band. We've had other instructors since Steve left the Los Alamitos area but none of them compared to his high level of attributes listed earlier.

Fantastic vocalist and musician! Hired for a small, intimate wedding needing low-key acoustic music that was done perfectly. Received several compliments from our guests on the quality of music and caliber of talent! Thank you again for making our celebration a great enjoyment for everyone present!

The John Brown Band played the Redondo Beach 4th of July Block Party and had the whole neighborhood rockin' out all night long. What a party!! After I heard them play, I knew I wanted to hire them for my wedding in San Diego on August 29. We had a great experience working with John and would recommend them in a heartbeat. The #1 comment from our wedding guests was how awesome the band was!! Upbeat song selection, dance-ability, and timing were perfect, even with no rehearsal on the Bridal Party Entrance!!! They even played a very special song (Harvest Moon) which I had totally forgotten to request - just perfect. And we got some GREAT pictures. :)

Ron and his musicians were outstanding!! I hired them for a '40s Big Band Pary for 2 hours and did the deliver! They were very much accommodating to our residents and the staff. Very upbeat group of men who sang and danced with our residents, which made all the ladies very happy! The music was spot on and made us all feel like we really were in the 1940s. Very happy with the performance and their attitudes, absolutely one of the best!

We were so glad we chose this band for our wedding. They were spectacular from the solo guitar entrance music, hosting the event, to closing the dance-floor down late night. I don't know how they kept the energy up for the whole night but they played till the very end. They definitely made our big party complete! PS -- I don't like Journey but the band was so good even I sang along!

Jordo makes his own music which is amazing and also plays covers! I loved having him at my venue. He can perform any song you want. I have never heard anything quite like him! He uses his loop pedals to make one guitar sound like a huge band. I can liken him to is Ed Sheeran. He is reasonably priced but there is no way he will be be able to keep his prices so low for so long. He can perform for anything. Weddings, shows, parties, and just about anything. If you call him he would love to help you out!

About

With their debut album receiving notable acclaim, this acoustic quintet is already making waves as one of the few true crossover bluegrass bands. Recent main stage performances at the Northwest String Summit, Mateel Summer Arts Festival, and Topanga Banjo Fiddle Contest have cemented Hot October as a SoCal favorite as they prepare for their 2018 tour.    While it might not be that uncommon for a bluegrass band to have all five musicians singing in harmony, what sets this group apart is the clear and apparent virtuosity of each individual working towards the greater composition. Lead vocals, traded by Paul Fuller (Banjo) and Jesse Olema (Fiddle), are supported by a masterful rhythm section. Craig Ferguson (Mandolin & Dobro),  Sasha Birrittella (Guitar), and David Tranchina (Upright Bass) work together seamlessly creating a deep rooted pocket while trading sweeping, flat-picked lines for David’s unmatched bowed solos. Yes, the groups collective improvisations are something to be marveled at, but what is most exciting is seeing where the new generation of bluegrass music is headed, and looking at what Hot October is bringing to the table, let's just say that it's a very exciting time to be a bluegrass fan.
