Ron has done work for me for over 8 years and he has been reliable, honest and very good at his job. He worked as my general contractor on 2 new construction houses and a very complex remodel of my current home which we demolished to the slab and studs and rebuilt. He found me good sub contractors and made sure they did a good job. He also did alot of the carpentry, plumbing, drywall and roofing himself as well as a fabulous deck. He is experienced in all aspects of construction and understands building codes and how to work with City planning and permitting. Ron is one of the few builders I have found who truly stands behind his work long after the project is completed. He has also done small 'handyman' projects for me over the years. I highly recommend him and plan on using him on any future project, large or small, that I do.Sep 7, 2013Ron S.'s reply

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Our pricing is not meant to be complicated, we strive to let our customers know ahead of time what to expect as far as costs are concerned yet there are often many unknowns when it comes to performing some tasks. Exact costs are an unknown when we cannot physically inspect the job in person, please understand the importance of needing flexibility when it comes to our pricing as most quotes on thumbtack are strickly guesses. Most handyman type jobs should be easily estimated and fairly accurate, however bigger more entailed jobs definitely need to be inspected in person before actual accurate quotes will be given. Thank you.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take? One of our recent jobs was done for a past client of mine, she lives in the city of La Mesa and her job consisted of taking a house down to the studs, demolition of all cast iron plumbing and replacing it with new plastic ABS piping, from there we rebuilt the entire house while adding 734 new sq. ft. to the overall size of the floorplan, we also landscaped the front and back yards and built a deck looking out beyond the valley toward San Diego and east county. As a client of mine for the past 8 yrs., it was a most challenging job in that she has a very good idea of what she wants and that is very beneficial to me because it allows me to just do what she wants and not have to think about it, yet at the same time it is quite a challenge in that some things cannot be done per plan or as the customer wants, so we had to change a few things and still try for the ending effect she was looking for, in the end she was very happy with how the whole project turned out and that's what we strive to provide to our customers as much as possible.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work? The advice I feel comfortable giving any client who is seeking to hire a person, (a total complete stranger mind you) is that you should feel confident and comfortable with that person in your meetings with them, it may take a couple of meetings but then again it just might be a one time phone conversation that seals the deal, it is my job to give answers to your questions that encourage more dialogue between us as new aquaintences and hopefully by the end of our conversations we have a mutual agreement on your project and we begin the process of completing your project, additionally at the conclusion of the job I would hope that we are more than just aquaintences but we are good friends and you would want to recommend us to your family, friends and neighbors.
