Rozanne has excellent communication skills. She offered me empathy, reflection and guidance during our weekly sessions. Most of all, she was encouraging and honest. She taught me how to understand myself and those life challenging obstacles that I used to avoid talking about. She keeps it real and helped me become stronger. I would highly recommend Rozanne if you are truly looking for change within yourself.
As a therapist myself (though not an art therapist), I attended a brief training through my county about art therapy presented by Ellen. Some time later I found myself stuck in my own process and having difficulty shifting it through traditional psychotherapy. I recalled Ellen's presentation and contacted her to see if she would work with me. For the next year, we met weekly. Ellen's integrity , keen sensitivity to my process, depth of knowledge, patience and dedication made for a tender and safe and creative and expansive experience for me. I felt compassionately seen and encouraged as I navigated through one step after another. At our last meeting, she beautifully tied it all together, going through her notes and my art, witnessing with me the path I had made for myself. Since then, I have confidently made referrals to her, and I am sorry she has moved out of the area! I whole-heartedly recommend Ellen as a skilled and compassionate Art Therapist.
I really enjoy working with Dana. She listens well, communicates clearly, gives valuable feedback, and provides me with tools to self-reflect outside of our time together. I highly recommended Dana.
Through an effective, supportive, non-judgmental, and collaborative approach, I act as an experienced and knowledgeable guide for individuals, couples, and families seeking positive and healthy transformations within themselves and their relationships. I specialize in treating couples and relationship issues, grief/loss/bereavement, depression, anxiety, stress, and military issues. I utilize interventions and tools from the following theories: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Gottmans Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy. I have been practicing in the field for 10 years and have been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in California since 2010. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Syracuse University in 2005 and my Master of Science of Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University in 2008. I have been a member of CAMFT since 2008 and serve as an alumni mentor for The Family Institute at Northwestern University.
I have been seeing Andrea for close to 10 yrs now. On my 1st visit I walked into her office a new mother with zero self confidence and my self esteem at it's lowest. I felt comfortable and safe enough to get straight to work on my issues that very first day. Andrea is patient, attentive and never judgmental. Together we got me back on the right path, but this time, I was armed with all the tools and equipment I needed to keep my goals in sight and myself worth in tact. My cynical, distrusting and sometimes down right surly 14 yr old daughter will speak only to her as a therapist, as she had grown bored of toying with all the professionals she had seen previously. None of which had ever been able to get ANYhing out of her, except maybe a good whoopin when they tried to beat her at 'Connect Four'. To sum it all up, if you're in the market for some down to Earth, honest and fair counseling, specific to your issues, then she's your girl. But be prepared to work and committed to improving, because she WILL put you to work and she WILL press you to look inside of yourself, no matter how difficult that may be for you . Because that's where she knows you'll find the answers. It is sometimes a very daunting thing. However, you needn't worry because when things get tricky or you feel your resolve weaken, Andrea, your trusted and reliable 'spotter' will be there to offer advice and support. Right there beside you, whenever you need her ... And then, one day, before you know it, you will no longer need her. . Bittersweet Victory...
There are times in everyone's life when we feel that we do not know which way to go, become overwhelmed, or are faced with a major life decision. During these times, it can be difficult to recall your strengths, find a solution, or even create a reasonable path for yourself. It can be greatly beneficial to speak to someone who is able to not only listen and offer support, but also guide you to discover your own solution to your life challenges. I feel that therapy must be flexible in order to facilitate positive change thought out to one's life. Due to this, I practice psychotherapy through a bend of CBT, solution-focused therapy, and extended family systems.
Elizabeth Donahue-Marucheau, LCSW, BCD provides counseling and therapy services for infants, children, adolescents, individuals, and couples. She has been in practice for over 20 years. She takes a solution-focused approach to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is fulfilling and worth celebrating. She believes that we can't change difficult situations of the past; however, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches, it may take a few sessions to resolve current struggles, or she may use techniques that focus on long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions which could be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
