I have experience teaching in three continents and have traveled to Central and South America and Mexico.
I've lived in Europe for six years and studied culinary arts, Spanish humanities and taught ESL in Madrid and Salamanca, Spain.
I have training in Lindamood-Bell, functional, notational, proficiency, direct, inductive (immersion, natural and discovery/self-actualization) methods as well as TPR and child/adolescent behavior and humanistic psychology.
I am certified in VA (where Common Core really started in the 80s) to teach Spanish K-12. I enjoy writing and am presently enrolled in a course with Troon Harrison and the Children's Literary Institute in CT to write for children and young adults.
I have sold photographs to Highlights Magazine related to travel to Hispanic countries and natural science/anthropology. I have taught graduate students at business schools, numerous Big Eight companies, university students and all levels of Spanish and English for K -12.
I read, write, speak and understand fluent Castellano as well as South and Central American, Puerto Rican, Cuban and Mexican dialects/accents.
My future aspirations include translation, publication/journalism (in either Spanish or English) and bilingual education.
