I have been taking guitar lessons at the studio since it opened. The facility is amazing and all instructors I have met are friendly, professional musicians. I love taking lessons here because they are tailored to fit my style and goals. I would and do recommend the studio to students of any age/ skill level.Jul 27, 2018
I recommend ModernTone Studios to anyone who is looking to further their musical journey or begin one! The teachers there are so passionate about helping their students get to where they want to be with music. I’ve been taking lessons with Jacob for 1.5 years now, once a week. My progress since I started taking lessons has been lightning speeds faster than if I were to continue learning on my own. Jacob is very patient, knowledgeable about music theory and all kinds of music, and has an amazing knack for teaching. He makes the lessons fun and never wastes a moment of my time. He pays attention to details and explains things in a way that’s easy to understand. Most importantly, I feel that he has helped me gain much more confidence in myself as a musician. My passion for playing music has grown immensely since taking lessons and I’m really looking forward to recording and producing my songs at ModernTone Studios! And in addition to the great teachers, the studio also has a very relaxed professional *modern* atmosphere. Good vibes all around! I am so grateful to have stumbled upon this Bay Area gem!Oct 10, 2018
An amazing experience. The location is state-of-the-art, immaculate, and welcoming. The instructors, especially Jacob, are professional, kind, and committed. In every moment, I have always felt comfortable to try new things and a part of a community that is vested in my success. Thoroughly recommended to anyone interested in exploring music.Jul 27, 2018
My experience with ModernTone has been nothing short of perfect. I approached Jacob at a time when my guitar playing had become stagnant and I wasn't sure how to proceed. I had been trying to learn via the computer games, YouTube, etc but that had always felt like I was learning other peoples stuff and not learning how to create my own work. Jacob assessed my abilities and immediately knew what my strengths were and where I could improve, and the results were immediate, as well as my passion for the instrument restored. The facility itself is top-notch, but be wary- that acoustically treated rooms sound so beautiful you may not want to play anywhere else! I've always felt perfectly at home and welcome at ModernTone, and I've never been nervous to fail with Jacob, as I know he will address whatever I'm struggling with as a compassionate and patient person who understands this music stuff isn't so easy! If you're looking for a welcoming, home-away from home studio with instructors who have the technical know-how to take you as far as YOU want to go with your instrument, then there really is no other reason to look anywhere else than ModernTone.Jul 31, 2018
