FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Most of the certifications are a waste of time for the truly knowledgeable. I have my certifications just to satisfy perspective clients. The best knowledge is a combination of spending the time in the trenches and reading all of the truly quality materials in a "self-directed research" capacity. No certification or degree in exercise physiology, etc. can make up for these two traits.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My clients range from high school athletes to all varieties of professional work. Some professions held by my clients are doctor, business owner, VP, real estate, computer programmer, film editor, Marine, etc.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
As mentioned previously, clients should be aware of the difference between a trainer who uses sound empirical techniques and methods, versus the "creative" trainer who just makes stuff up - similar to the "functional" trainer crowd, who uses unstable objects like Bosu Balls, etc. Ask the trainer questions about their system, and what are their guiding principles. A knowledgeable trainer ought to be able to provide you with at least a list of commandments that defines their training style, or what they feel defines a high quality training environment.
