Introduction: My name is Jusilla Bridgemon, and I’m happy to have you in my healthy corner on the web! I am a US Military Veteran and San Diego State University Alumna; Go Aztecs! I received my B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Fitness Specialist. My commitment to health began shortly after I gained 25 unhealthy pounds throughout high school and before joining the military. After years of smoking, drinking, clubbing and hitting those “all you can eat buffets”, I decided to take charge of my own future and committed to making health and fitness a new way of life. I wasn’t sure where to start and I too could find a million excuses why I couldn’t make it to the gym. However, my determination to make CHANGE happen was more significant than I could fully understand. After dibbling and dabbling with different methods of fitness, I took on the challenge of being my Command fitness leader. I quickly realized that teaching fitness satisfied me in a way I never felt before, for once I felt as if I was making a positive impact on peoples’ lives, which is why I decided to pursue an education In kinesiology and fitness. Using my current understanding of methodology to educate, motivate and mentor a wide array of clients. I feel my passion for teaching fitness is transparent through my dedication to helping people become happier and healthier through exercise and nutrition coaching. Being part of San Diego’s most well known Crossfit and weightlifting gyms is an honor, I am a well-respected and a recognized name within the fitness community. More than being the typical fitness instructor, I consider myself a “Workout Designer” and “Coach.” Specializing in all types of training, ranging from novice strength training, elite Crossfit coaching to Olympic weightlifting. When I’m not teaching or training, I am often working on my personal growth to be a better coach for you. TRAINING PHOLOSOPHY “Making your MIND comfortable with the fact that your BODY is going to be uncomfortable.” People who are not accustomed to regular exercise typically will find it difficult to find comfort when uncomfortable. I believe that getting out of our comfort zone– mentally and physically, is where positive change occurs. Positive change will not happen sitting at home on the couch. That is where I come in, I specialize in helping people get away from their comfort zones, whether it’s for just a minute or an entire hour. What I can’t do is make someone want to get stronger, leaner or fitter. But when you are ready to take that leap, I will be with you every step of the way! Sure, we all have some fear of commitment, but we must commit if we want to see results. Life is a series of goals and some will take much longer to accomplish than others. Becoming and staying the best version of yourself can take a lifetime of commitment.

I can't say enough about Elevation Fitness and Jusilla Ann (Coach J). I'm a Boomer era senior and considered myself to be in decent shape, but had lost a step here and there, have stiffened up over the years and the club gym routine was just not doing it for me. So my wife and I have been working with Coach J for one year now and it has been very rewarding. Before we started I had issues with my knees, back, mobility and range of motion. Coach J customized a program to focus on alleviating these issues while working on strength and conditioning. At first I couldn't imagine getting through a full hour workout because of the intensity, but in a short amount of time the conditioning started to pay off. The work outs are still challenging, but now I know how to pace myself and have the strength and endurance I need to push myself. I have gotten down to my nominal weight losing my belly (~15lbs) while putting on muscle. I no longer wear knee braces, can do 24" vertical box jumps with ease, my cardio is so much better, can do full motion squats and have nearly doubled my functional and lifting strength. In the year we've worked with her, Coach J has been creative in her workouts, adding Bootcamps, Yoga, Stretching applications and invests in specialized equipment to create diverse and challenging workouts. Her academic training, knowledge and experience are outstanding. The facility is clean, well equipped and everyone there is helpful, and there is a real sense of camaraderie. Even while enduring COVID shut downs Coach J created at home work outs, guided us with nutrition and meal preparation. Jusilla genuinely cares about our goals and our health often checking in with us to see how we're doing. I definitely recommend Coach J whether you're just starting out, looking for sport specific training, or want to take your fitness to the next level.

I’ve been working out with Jusilla for 6+ months now, and I can truthfully say she is as REAL as it gets from her professionalism to her quality of work. I highly recommend her as a trainer! She has great energy and work ethnic. She has been a great support system and motivator! Her workouts are intense; however, she focuses on your needs while pushing you beyond your limits. Trust me, her program will not work unless you work. If you’re viewing her profile right now just know that you’ve already won half that battle by choosing her!

J was an absolute godsend!! Down to earth, pushed me hard while understanding and respecting my abilities, and most importantly, she did most of the exercises with me, which was super motivating and made me really wanna keep going. I honestly don't think it's possible to train with her and not hit your goals if you're consistent. 100% positive experience and hopefully I can train with her again in the future!!

I have been training with Jusilla for about two months now... Due to COVID we initially started working virtually. She has been professional and a joy to work with. Honestly, she has been just as dedicated to helping me meet my health goals and has tailored my program to meet my every need. Now that the gyms are open and accessible, I have been training in house with coach J. In addition to my one-on-one training sessions, boot camp and yoga are available on the weekends. You seriously cannot beat the price!! In just a few months, I have seen a major difference- physically and mentally. If you are hesitant, don’t! Take a chance of yourself and coach J, you wont be disappointed.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Elevation Fitness Offers a 10% discount to clients who attend sessions a minimal of 4 days a week.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    All clients must undergo a movement assessment before the first personal training session. MOVEMENT ASSESSMENTS : Are a brief interview for clients including a standard physical activity readiness questionnaire to assess overall movements from a purely preliminary standpoint. The 3 preliminary assessments. -Static Postural Assessment by observing the 5 kinetic checkpoints (KCC) - which include the foot and ankle, knee, LPHC, shoulders and thoracic spine, and head and neck. -Overhead Squat Assessment is the first overall look at any client movement. This assessment, with heels elevated and hands-on-hip modifications, can serve as useful windows into the client’s overall movement health. -Single-Leg and Split-Squat assessments.
