I requested singing lessons and received 6 quotes rangers big from $36/hr to $100/hr. I eliminated 3 of them just based on the message they wrote to me and their reviews or lack there of. My passion is indie rock and Jan does not fit the profile of a rocker and she was vocally trained as an opera singer. However, her reviews were positive, she was priced in the middle, her message to me was pertinent and once I called and spoke to her I was sold. I didn't bother contacting the other two quotes I was interested in. Needless to say, my hunch was right and I had my first lesson last week. It went incredibly well. She amazed me. I am a song writer wanting to improve my vocals so I can work indecent from hiring a singer. I showed he some of my recorded originals and within seconds she knew what I had to improve to make my voice fit the song better. We changed the key a whole step, she had me pronounce some of the words differently and she gave input in to what could improve for the song instrumentally. She started showing me current artists and what I could take from their particular songs to inspire some rhythmic changes. she had suggestions on where to go and present my music to sale for commercial/tv/advertising. She had big picture advice on where to focus my energies. I couldn't believe what we packed in to a one hour rehearsal. She sat at her piano and taught me vocal exercises and explained to me how I could improve on them with what I call tricks to break certain bad habits I have formed. I can't wait to see her next week. She can totally rock!!!
New to vocal lessons my goal was to learn about my voice and the skills necessary to sing the genre of music relative to me, I struck gold when I found Richard. Richard's expertise and experience has allowed me to find my voice and understand how to use it. I feel much more confident about singing after each lesson, with Richard I'm always on my way to reaching my goals. Great coach great person!
I had joined a very established win in group and was so nervous about getting back to singing quality since it had been so long! I started weekly singing lessons with Stephanie and it was awesome! She went right to my needs with scales and feeling more confident about my changed voice. She utilized our time well and totally gave me great confidence as I progressed. She even thru a few fun songs of my favorite R n' R songs to make it fun. She is an outstanding musician and talented woman. Her teaching skills are wonderful, especially for someone like me so out of touch in singing with a choral group. I felt so good about myself! I highly recommend her.
I have been taking private lessons at the Donna O Studio since my Sophomore year of high school in 2006. I did have to take time away from the studio for college but since moving back to the area, I have resumed lessons in opera, classical, and musical theater. I have loved the vocal instruction that I have received over these years at the studio. Donna is a master of her craft and you can really tell that she loves what she does. She invests so much of her time to her students and grooms them for vocal success. She is very good about explaining proper vocal technique and also the fundamentals of performance, auditioning, and even vocal anatomy; where our sound is coming from and how your whole body is used to create sound. She has many singers of all ages and vocal backgrounds so you'll be sure to find satisfaction in your vocal instruction! The best thing of all is that I am still learning new and wonderful things about my voice and am tackling new vocal goals!
I graduated with a degree in theatre and have always wanted to sing. I've toured with my dad and have taken voice lessons with many teachers over the years. Rickie Gole is the teacher I have been looking for my whole life. When I first tried her class all I knew about her was that her students (who I went to school with) were always getting cast and hired. They had beautiful voices and I wanted so badly to sing like them. Since taking lessons with her for about a month now I have discovered something else. I am finding a new voice that is completely mine. I leave her classes more confident, happier, and freer. My biggest obstacle so far is trying not to get emotional because my voice is shocking me. It's how I've always wanted to sing and never believed I could. I completely don't recognize it. Her genuinely warm and encouraging presence makes me unafraid to make mistakes and try new things and because of that I'm singing like I never have in my life. Thank you Rickie.
So i originally sought April for vocal lessons to propose to my then at the time girlfriend by serenading her. Yet as stories go sometimes, it did not workout, but i found a love for singing. April made each time for me enjoyable and yet practical for a male with no previous vocal trainingl. I never saw myself as a singer, and she has overtime come to help me break these ideas about myself. My voice has greatly improved and as a male, i have gotten more in touch with my "high voice". That range of singing in which few males are comfortable to stay within, but the ones who do, are magnificent. I can now in my heart see myself one day of actually singing as good as, if not better than professionals. I enjoy her encouragement, commitment to her students, and her passion for teaching. She is a blessing and made me realize how much i truly cherish singing! Thank you April, for a journey i never thought i would take, but one i wouldn't change!
Had two quick session and even though I had a flu we got to work on a good starter stuff. Had a great time and got a good base for starting vocal lessons back at home! Thanks! Definitely will recommend :)
I have been on hit national shows as a guitar player and even sang backup without much problems because I could hide behind the other singers. However singing lead petrified me, even after taking some vocal lessons from various teachers. But after working with Marquita I was blown away when I was hitting notes that I never thought that I could hit as well having unbelievable control over my voice which I thought was impossible. The greatest moment was when I actually felt it was an instrument during band rehearsal. And I was even adding another layer to the song above guitars and the creativity exploded. She's also great with teaching to use the voice for stage and screen actors.
I worked with Kevin for over 2 years during my time at AMDA Los Angeles, and would have worked with him for the entire 3 years that I was there if I had to option to. Kevin is an extremely knowledgable vocal coach and it was an extremely beneficial experience. In vocal lessons, sometimes the simplest concepts are the hardest only because they were communicated in a confusing way, but Kevin taught his lessons in very relatable terms and made sure I understood exactly what he meant before we moved on. He also paid attention to my strengths and weaknesses, catering to each equally. For example, he knew that I learned music very quickly and kept me motivated by giving me new songs to work on, while still focusing on my vocal weaknesses and never getting impatient if I was having difficulty. It was a true honor to work with such a patient, caring and knowledgable vocal coach, and if I ever come back to LA, I will be contacting him for more lessons. He was my voice teacher as well as my mentor during school, and I'd recommend him to anyone seeking a voice teacher.
By far the most amazing vocal lessons ever. Immediate success, Radina is a very friendly teacher. Great techniques and very well explained, for me as a beginner exactly what I was looking for! I would recommend one full lesson a week.
I went with my daugter for some vocal lessons and a recording and Mia was amazing, professional attentive to my daughters needs and fun to be with.
Zeth was my son’s drum teacher for 2 years in New Jersey. He was so sad when Zeth moved to California. My son loved his lessons with Zeth...he had a way of incorporating fun into his instruction, and my son grew to have a passion for drums. Zeth and his wife also became trusted family friends who would babysit, housesit, and pet sit for us. You will be in good hands with Zeth, he’s a great guy and an awesome musician!
I would like to share my very strong endorsement of Bonnie Kousoulakis. As a classically-trained vocalist who has studied at both Brigham Young University and in the Oregon State University music program, I have had the opportunity to work with a number of different vocal instructors over the years. I can say without hesitation that none have helped me in to realize my potential as a classical vocalist more than Ms. Kousoulakis. Her understanding of vocal technique and ability to help her students achieve their fullest potential, especially for the male voice, is in my experience, unparalleled. Before I began studying with Ms. Kousoulakis about 15 months ago, I was merely a singer with potential, much of which had been untapped. I lacked confidence in myself and had not developed a strong understanding of exactly how to use my instrument to its fullest potential. However, with the assistance of Ms. Kousoulakis, I have been able to achieve a quality of singing and a belief in myself that has led me to give serious consideration to pursuing a full-time professional career for the first time since I left college more than a decade ago. My experiences as her student, combined with an understanding of her own education, professional background in opera and her passion for the art, give me great confidence in recommending her.
My daughter is currently taking lessons with HWAA and she loves her instructors. The instructors are patient and are always flexible with our busy schedule. I highly recommend this academy!
Both of my children have been taking lessons with Rachel for the past 3 years and she's been awesome! My daughter takes singing lessons and my son has been taking saxophone lessons, and they both love it! She's really professional and fun to work with. It's also been nice that she teaches a lot of instruments so we can have one teacher come to the house to teach both of the kids one after the other. I couldn't recommend her enough!
the most efficient and best lesson I've had! can't wait for more
Voice lessons with Yen Lin were a life and mind-expanding experience for me. She nurtured me and encouraged me to perform at high standards. Importantly, she was willing and able to instruct according to my broad range of interestsclassical, Broadway, and popular. So, at times, she worked me through the complexities of operatic pieces, and at other times she taught me how to confidently belt out a Broadway tune. We worked with several languages: Italian, French, German, and English. She expressed fluency in all of them. As a beginner, I especially needed work on my phrasing and bringing meaning to the words. Yen Lin had the technical and emotional understanding needed to make my singing come alive. I always left my lesson instilled with confidence, enthusiastic to learn the new pieces, and generally inspired. As a busy professional, I needed a voice instructor to be flexible, and Yen Lin was happy to accommodate my schedule. Yen Lin herself has the most beautiful voice. I miss singing with her so much. My daughter is very happy with Pierson as her piano teacher. It is a pleasure working with him. Has the right approach to make the lessons fun and engaging.
Amazing guitar lessons! I am learning how to play stuff by Hendricks Beatles and Led Zeppelin and some other bands too. This guy is definitely the classic rock dude!
I had an absolutely great time with Lilit, she's a talented skilled musician who is very patient and passionate about her work. Loved the facility and their flexible scheduling.
I appreciate that Shane does not offer one-size-fits-all lessons. He's been responsive about the ways I learn best, and he comes at the skill we're tackling with tips from a variety of directions. I find his feedback and demonstrations (via Zoom during our lessons) clear and helpful. And I appreciate his resources (e.g. drills/scales), respectful use of time, supportive approach and ability to make it normal that we at first struggle in the process of internalizing better technique. We are a good fit despite being on opposite coasts!
