I needed to repair and update my parent's home. I fired a terrible contractor recommended by the realtor. I found McCool Construction and we were on our way to success. Shawn McCool listened to what my goal was, then he offered cost effective suggestions. McCool brought in his team and went to work. We found several unseen problems, McCool fixed them. The bane of any contractor is 'change orders'. McCool dealt with the changes and was very fair. I suggest listening to him when working through the plan...HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING. The home sold the first day it was on the market at the asking price. Neighbors and two interior designers were shocked by the transformation. I am careful how my name is used. I will use my name to recommend Shawn McCool Construction. Forgive the pun, he is cool and honest. Thank you.

Shawn McCool has done three or four projects for us, from installing window shutters to rebuilding a deck at our Tahoe cabin to electrical work at our home. His work has always been first class, his pricing fair and his responsiveness above the norm for contractors. I recommend him highly.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Being a general contractor I need to know the prices of many things. Often times square footage is needed to determine price. There are also many factors that can scale the price up or down.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First a meeting to hear the needs of the client. Next we put together a price and job time line reflecting the clients price point and design choices
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 20 years as a carpenter and 15 years as a contractor experience. I also have a construction management degree.
