I've been taking guitar and singing lessons with David for a few months, and I've got to say I've had a really great time learning from him! David is an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable teacher who clearly cares about his students and their goals, and better still has played and performed with the artists that I like best. It took me a while to find a teacher who was willing to teach me the music I wanted to play instead of starting with their core competence, so it was really refreshing that within a month or two with plenty of practice I was able to learn one of my favorite songs (Three Rounds and a Sound by Blind Pilot, if you're curious), and a little longer to start singing it, which I was really stoked about. He has been great about breaking things down when the piece we're working on is too challenging. David has also pushed me to pursue my goal of creating music, helping along the way to create melodies and lyrics. I have to say, it takes a great teacher to get me to sing and to share lyrics with them (do you know how embarrassing that can be?). I could go on, but suffice it to say, David is a great teacher, and I'm really glad I started taking lessons with him.
I purchased bass guitar lessons for my Dad with Dylan. Dylan was very thoughtful and responsive. My Dad has had 3 lessons so far and loves it. He had been learning on his own and says things make sense now and he also appreciates the music theory that Dylan incorporates into the lessons. He and I recommend Dylan.
Sedat is a very patient teacher. He is enjoyable to work with. He is great at teaching no matter how much experience you have. He has great teaching skills and is incredibly talented. I have only taken 3 bass lessons and I have learned so much and can't wait to learn more. I highly recommend Sedat for anyone who wants to learn guitar.
Rick is a great guitar teacher at any level. He can teach everything from theory to practical playing and make it fun. I highly recommend him if you want to learn the correct way of playing.
I'm a beginner to guitar, having played a little piano and drums before. Been working with Chris for a few weeks now and it has been a blast. He's a talented musician who is connected to the music scene. I wanted a guitar teacher who was connected to the local music scene, and so I've really enjoyed working with Chris and even going to see his band perform. I also love how Chris walks through songs and is able to write out the tabs and chords on the fly, and then on top of that show me multiple ways of playing the same song. Highly recommend.
I am a bass player who has always played guitar here and there but nothing too serious, and about a year ago decided I really want to know the fundשmentals of guitar. A friend recommended Jacob Light, whom I've heard play before in local bands, and I decided to take the chance. I wasn't dissapointed to say the least. Jacob is a really down to earth guy who immediately understood my musical style and focused mainly on what I wanted to know, unlike other teachers I've had experience with. Even so, he knew what subjects to insist I learn, like improvisation. and scales. all this was done in a friendly, calm, cool yet persistent atmosphere which is just the right blend for learning, in my opinion.Soon enough I started feeling I really understand guitar, and this new kno'ledge even helped me with my bass guitar playing. Ive been taking guitar lessons with Jacon for 6 months and the only downdise I can think of is the fact he moved to California, otherwise I would have still take lessons from him, without a doubt.
I started taking guitar lessons with Jack a month ago. I never played a single chord until now and after every class I feel more and more comfortable with the guitar and confident in my abilities. Jack is very patient and tailors his lessons to suite my needs, which I really appreciate. I look forward to my weekly guitar classes - it's wonderful and pleasant working with Jack! I can't wait to tell him the next song I want to learn.
I have been seeing Kenny for adult guitar lessons. He really is an amazing teacher. Having no musical experience in the past I was pretty apprehensive about taking lessons, but after meeting with Kenny and listening to his instruction I felt much more confident and look forward to working with him in the future.
Beautiful duo! Right on spot music selection. Thank you!
I started taking guitar lessons from D.D. a couple of months ago and have learned so much from him in the short period of time. He's a great teacher, with a lot of patience. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who's interested in taking up the guitar.
Very glad to discover this teacher in our area. Very patient - highly recommend
My daughter takes bass lessons from him and she seems to enjoy it quite a bit and that's saying a lot. She's an awkward turtle at best and the fact that she continues to willingly take lessons from him means that she's actually comfortable enough around him to productively learn. That's also a testament to his patience, since knowing my own daughter, she can be difficult to get through to at times. She's learned a lot in the short time that she's taken lessons from him and she tells me that he explains concepts in a way that makes it easy to understand and grasp. I plan to have her continue taking lessons from him throughout high school.
I have been playing for 42 yrs. Enough said. I like to think that within a song are many lessons and techniques that can teach, but at the same time keep the interest of the student by having fun.
In my lessons, we will be going over guitar fundamentals. Some other things we will go over is ear training. This will teach you to figure out songs on your own. I specialize in the music of Django Reinhardt, but the lessons can be catered towards your own interest!!
I have been teaching students guitar for over a decade. In addition, I've worked with some of the biggest names of rock in my career! I focus on teaching rock-and-roll guitar. If you are looking to rock and roll, I'm your teacher!
I love teaching from beginning up to advanced acting principles, voice, speech, movement, improv, and various other fun elements of the dramatic arts. Also, if you're looking for beginning or intermediate guitar, bass or drums, I'm your guy! Are you looking for a band? I've got one! I also have child care experience and can host intermittent afternoons and keep your youngins learning and having a blast!
I teach children and adults piano and guitar lessons. I have 3 years of experience teaching and studying music in college.
I am still very active in the music scene so my lessons incorporate all past and current styles of guitar playing.
Hi everyone, I am a multi-instrumentalist offering beginner/intermediate guitar, bass and drum lessons for students of all ages in the South Bay area. Many studies show that learning a musical instrument helps improve performance on cognitive tasks, increases the capacity of your memory, fosters your self-expression, boosts your self-confidence, relieves stress and above all else is fun! I am 27 years old and have been involved with various bands and session gigs throughout the Bay Area. I have been playing drums for over 16 years and have approximately 11 years of experience with guitar and bass. I have had many great experiences over the years in teaching music to friends and family. I recently began offering my music instruction services professionally and have had a lot of success with students as young as 7 and as old as 56. My lessons are structured based on your level of experience and musical tastes. I find that it is more fun and effective to integrate music lessons with a student's favorite music. You will not only be learning how to play an instrument but will also learn how to play some of your favorite songs along the way! After a few of my beginner guitar/bass lessons, you will be able to learn the following: Identify and play basic chords Use different beginner guitar/bass techniques such as bends, hammer-ons and tremolo picking Perform basic maintenance of your instrument such as tuning by ear and restringing your guitar/bass Read and interpret guitar/bass tablature Ultimately, my goal with every student is to help make music a lifetime hobby for them. I understand that learning a new instrument can be very intimidating for some people; instead of focusing on more complex topics like scales and music theory, my aim for beginners is to help build up their confidence by teaching fun songs, iconic riffs, fun beats and cool techniques that show immediate results. I offer one-hour instruction of the instrument of your choice (guitar, bass or drums) for $35. This is a flat rate, and I will not charge extra if you have friends or family who would like to learn alongside you during our lessons! Guitar/bass lessons can be taught either at your home, my apartment or a place of your choosing (i.e. coffee shop, park, etc). Drum lessons can only be taught at your home. I have extra guitars that you can use for the duration of our lessons if needed. Please shoot me an e-mail if you are interested, so we can discuss your availability, level of experience and music tastes. Thanks!
I am a music theory and guitar instructor. I teach using the various goal oriented methods that have proven themselves to work in the musicianship and playing of both myself and my students. I offer a money-back guarantee. I have never taught someone who hasn't grown as a musician and/or guitarist after studying with me. I have formal training in most styles of music, and I am happy to teach all levels of advancement. I also offer group lessons which is a great way to save money for two or more students that are at similar levels.
Being a great musician doesn't necessarily equate to being a great music teacher. Teaching requires patience, empathy, and a commitment to understanding how each student learns. I strive to "break through" with each student in a way that opens up musical creativity and the thrill of learning music.
